  1. So => 6A - Trinity 5 5A - Bowling Green 30 4A - Highlands 6 3A - Central 5 2A - Newport Cen. Cath 9 1A - Mayfield 14
  2. Who has the longest winning streak in each class? Who will end up with the longest at the end of the season??
  3. Could the real reasons be some sort of variation of the following??? 1. Opposing teams do not want to get embarassed, beat down! 2. Risk injury! 3. Scared! 4. Can't agree on gate distribution or commit to home and home etc. series! 5. No opening in schedule! 6. Opposing teams feel as if Trinity runs up score when not necessary! For example: Trinity up 35 - 0 at half and starters play nearly all of third quarter... There maybe other reasons, but I would like opposing coaches to answer the question in this forum. Thanks
  4. Why do Kentucky Teams and Out of State Teams choose NOT to play Trinity? Just wondering what the real reason(s) are....
  5. After Trinity has won the last 3 State Championships in 6A, how can anyone other than the Rocks be favorite for this year??? Come on folks, you can only cry wolf so many times... Trinity is the defending State Champ and will be till somebody knocks them out of the PLAYOFFS..... NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT the last three years!!!! Having said that, St. X is supposed to be loaded and very talanted. I believe this!!! However, the Tigers have to get the job done come November/December. Plus with the new coaching staff, just a lot of unknown variables. This could be a very welcomed blessing.... or it could be growing pains.... I'm taking the optimistic approach and feel that the Tigers will give the Rocks everything they want and then some.... But Trinity is the clear cut favorite this year no question. Go Tigers!!!!
  6. I would say Coach Wolford is under "pressure" to win, however, I would say that it is self influenced..! I do think it is really funny :lol2::lol2: that the Trinity posters viewed Glaser as the worst coach etc. when he was coaching and now refer to him as "legandary"..... Talk abput trying to create some spin.....!!! I just never saw ANY Trinity posters EVER refer to Coach Glazer as "legendary" when he was coaching.... :lol2::lol2::lol2: I see alot of folks questioning the experience of Coach Wolford. He has some of the most experienced playing time in college and pro football. If other words, he has been around a lot of great coaches. I am a firm believer that coaches learn to coach from other succesful coaches..... I think the Tiger program will be just fine. Keep under estimating this bunch!!!! Lets see what happens.....
  7. IF my memory serves me correct, thats a BIG IF..... X was up 14 - 0 going into the last play of the third quarter. X lines up to kick a ~35 yard field goal. Male blocks it and returns in 70 yars for TD. We have a ballgame.... Midway thourgh 4th Q. X receiver catches a 10 yard pass in the flat and coughs up the ball. Male returns it for 60+ yards for a TD. Tie game and Male has all the momentum!!! Under 4 minutes left, X driving to put something on the board. Gets in a 3rd and 7 situation and the QB rolls out only to find a wide open Male DB. He returns in some 70+ yards for the go ahead and winning TD. Thats how I remember that game or some sort of variation there of.....
  8. Tigers need to develop a more balanced offensive attack. Need to establish proven weapons in the run game and the passing game.... Consistency is very important.... Special Teams need to be "Special"... Defense needs to establish itself as the best in the state against the run and pass.... Ideally, I would love to see the Tigers maul opponents right out of the gate, however, I look for a slow start. Adjustments mostly in coaching etc.... I see several close games early and mid season... Really look for the team to be much better in late October and November. Time will tell. Should be exciting, really looking forward to the season. Would love to see the size of the X offensive line have the quickness of players smaller than they are..... This will be the ultimate test of how far the Tigers go this year...
  9. Bernard Jackson is one I left off the list. Outstanding 3 year starter at LB. Made many BIG plays and controlled many games.... I would like to see a list of Offensive / Defensive and Special Teams , why not by decade...... I am also looking at the players as High School playing days only, college and or pro career has no influence on my criteria...
  10. Need some updates. Traveling on the road.... THANKS!!!!!
  11. Having only watched St. X football since 1971, I would say three of the top players would be: (no specific order) and (no offense to all the great players that have played at X) Rick Buehner - QB - Set the standard at the Option Veer QB Position that hasn't been matched. Tendi Chariskia (sp?) - RB - As Strong and explosive a RB that X has had. Just don't get in his way.... You can ask all the LB's and DB's from opposing teams! Victor Anderson - RB - Quickness and speed that left you searching for your strap!! Had some remarkable cuts and runs that the imagination has a hard time understanding. Close but did not make list: Duce Finch - Strong and Fast all time X ground gainer. Dicky Lyons - Heard stories, never saw him play.
  12. Wow ....What a game by both teams. Hats off to Male for the big 5 run 6th to tie the game. Big cheer for the X bats in the bottom of the 7th to load bases and win it on sacrifice fly with one out..... Congrats Tigers on the 7th Region Championship => Now on to State.....!!!!!!
  13. St. Xavier 6 - Male 5 FINAL - 7th Region Championship...
  14. Anyone know who the starting pitchers are for tonights game? What are their records....? Thanks!!!
  15. St. X holds off late Trinity rally to gain spot in tomorrows 7th Region Final. Both teams played well, hit well in spots. Pitching and defense won the game for the Tigers. Even with very good to excellent pitching, some very timely defensive gems played big in this game. With X up 5 -1, after a big 3 inning, Trinity comes right back with two lead off hits only to have a bunt caught by pitcher and doubled off the man at 2nd.... Also in 7th inning, Trinity down several runs, gets two hits to start the inning only to hit into double play.... Trinity responded with back to back doubles with tying run on 2nd with two outs..... Batter swings on relief pitcher's full count pitch...... Trinity left fielder went up the wall to catch a ball.... best defensive play of game...... St. X needs to sure up some fielding errors which could cost them down the road..... St. X will play winner of Male - Manual Thursday night at 7:30 for Region 7 Championship and berth to State Tournament.... Go Tigers!!!!
  16. Outstanding Job Tiger LAX Teams. You are to be congratulated for an outstanding season and effort against the arch rival. Always good to put a beat down on the Shelbyville road school....!!! Work hard in the off season and be ready for next year. State Championships are to be had Men.... Do you want it???
  17. Congrats on the impressive schedule. You guys had me concerned there for a while... Looks like a possible "Mythical National Championship" season. With six home games and the PJCS game, this schedule should work very well for Trinity. I think Trinity will compete very well with this schedule, 8 - 2 at the worst, probable more like 10 - 0. The one thing nobody has mentioned is the "Injury Bug" that tends to rear its ugly head when facing monster schedules like this. Injuries could play a big role in how this Trinity team fairs against this schedule, time will tell. I'm looking forward to the Oct. 4 battle against Trinity!!! Good Luck this season, I think your going to need some . . .
  18. Can't ever remember PRP takin a beating like that, 12 - 0....
  19. Major Statement by the Tigers last night..... Keep on Rollin..... The Proof is in the Post Season......
