The announcers are students who could be classified as interns. They could greatly help themselves if they learned the official's signals and some football lingo as far as rules go. They will occasionally say the wrong penalty just happened and the crowd groans. Overall, they don't do a bad job.

Newport Catholic has played the tougher schedule, but does either team have a quality win? If they do, where is it? I'm not seeing it. Newport Central's best win is a close loss to a Campbell County team that folded 3 weeks into the season. Shelby Valley won a rematch against a suspect Prestonburg team. I'm taking NCC in a rout. I think they play hard, but the only reason they're still playing is because the Kentucky playoff is so watered down. 2A might produce a running clock championship game this year.

If NCC did move the game it could be reason enough for Newport to tell NCC they're never using the field again. $1800 is a bargain. The rent should be minimum $2500 a game as it is now. Ncc could instead start playing their games on that field in Silver Grove. Just put up lights. I bet the Dairy Bar would love some extra business on Friday night. I find it unbelievable that NCC has to rent fields and then they a few fans complain about the rental terms. If Holmes lets them play at Holmes for free that's Holmes's issue. Ncc should play at Holmes every week until there's not a blade of grass left on Holmes field.

Why do people always mention Covcath with Highlands? Covcath gets a free ride on Highlands coattails.

Baker had 2 good runs. That was about it. One was 99. The other was about 70. He gained about 80 more yards on his other 30 carries. Outside of those 2 carries, he didn't do anything.

Who considers Covcath a good team in N Ky?

Newport by 2 TD's. Ncc finishes at .500. It's a good thing they avoided playing that Ashland game or they would have finished the year with 7 losses.

Highlands looked disinterested. There were missed assignments, penalties, fumbles, questionable play calls, and way too many dropped passes. Good news is they won.

The warren central posters on here have always been classy good posters. I had no issue with Feggins press conference at the time or now. Highlands could've used Jensen last week. Jensen would've have put up Allstate Mr. Football candidate numbers with Hoge. That said, he still made the right decision in my mind to play for his father. I hope Coach Feggins builds Warren Central into a power.

Almost all the passes were just quick dumpoffs. I'd also consider using Enslen some at RB as a change of pace guy. Put him and Smith in the backfield and run the ball more to keep defenses off balance.

The Ncc secondary is fine. One problem is up front on both sides of the ball. Ncc does some good things and has improved. Smith would get a few carries on any team including Highlands. There are still problems. Discipline, stupid personal fouls giving away yardage every week, line play, tackling, and play calling. I think Ncc is a year away. The play selection is so bad that if I was the head coach I'd fire the OC this morning and call the plays myself from this point forward.

Covcath has been a longtime rival but i respect them. Football is better when Covcath is good.

Ncc is much better than the first 2 games i saw them. They need to keep from making mental errors and develop a down the Field passing game. They're a year away. Lots of good jrs. Tough typing with the phone and cold hands. I'm done.

Beechwood needs to get back to pounding it for 10 a play. Theres plenty of time in half.
