WV has 4 sophomores in their first year of getting significant varsity playing time, this won't be the last surprising score of the year for them in either direction.

WV lead from the start, never got closer than 12 whole second half and stayed around 20 point spread. Miles with 25 for the Bearcats.

No way they did not guess, the clocks at Grnat Co are up on the second level but obviously ref would never admit he guessed or estimated. Would love to see film.

For the refs on here. Number 24 for Walton slammed the ball in excitement as time runs out and they assess a technical and put .8 seconds on clock. Is this the right call?

I believe Williamstown is the 4th seed. SK and WV both have one loss with WV playing Grant this week, if WV wins does anyone know 32nd district tie breaker?

WV starts 2 sophomores on varsity and I believe their JV is compromised of 90% freshman players.... I am thinking that if you put Lay/Clinkenbeard on the current WV jv team that "they could stay with" Boone's jv team with those sophomores added.

Also heard this was a 20 point game with about 3 minutes to go so maybe not even as close as the score shows?

I think box score said Sullivan lead the way for WV with 5 threes for 15 pts and Purnell lead for Boone I believe.

Are the Bearcats starting to play as if they can compete for district title? Have just been looking at their scores lately and wondering if they can make the push?

Not a WV supporter but would have to think they implement something close to Gallatin to have a chance. No way they have the ability to run up and down with Owen in my opinion.

Seems like WV always has a junk defense for Stanley that has worked, I am sure he does not enjoy playing them.

The best freshman coaches got me thinking about JV as well. A lot of JV coaches seem to be close to becoming varsity coaches, so who are the local up and comers in the area? I follow the 9th region the most but am not really familiar with the coaches in the Jv rank as I am with the varsity coaches. Anyone willing to start a list?

That is correct Mustang, none are strictly jv. They all practice with the freshman squad majority of the week and play up on noghts that jv has a game. They have held their own on the jv level as well as they see 90% of the minutes on the jv level collectively. They're bodies will have to develop to compete at the varsity level, this upcoming summer will tell the story...

Free throws were not 2 of 17 for Highlands, they shot 3 for 11. Still not good but not quite as bad. Brook gave Finfrock all he could handle, WV is a decent team when Brook stays out of foul trouble and plays to his ability.
