Word on the street is that Woody McMillen has accepted the job. He started the football program at Walton Verona and was a long time Ludlow guy from what I am hearing, do not know much more about him.

Walton returns Kinmon, Brook, Townsend, Sullivan, both Clinkenbeards and Anderson. They also had a very good jv squad last year. Should make for a competitive district.

Congrats on a great season for the seniors at Boone, that group surprised some people this year. Borkowski played out of his mind for a while, for not playing last year he had a heck of a season. They have a TON of shoes to fill next year. Unfortunate they were unable to hold the lead. Dixie always seems to have a game like this in first round of the region.

You're right, they played a minute or so of the 4th quarter. I should of said they played sparingly.. Mayberry was the only one who played significant time in the 4th. I was sitting right behind Boone's bench so I can promise you that Borkowski, Stanley and Stockwell were sitting right in front of me for nearly the entire 4th quarter.

Borkowski with 24 for Boone. Stockwell and Stanley with 15 and 14. Running clock in the 3rd, the 3 mentioned above did not play 4th quarter. Boone's strength and speed gave Ryle fits, way too many turnovers.

Obviously on paper Grant Co. and SK would be favorites over them, thankfully they don't play the game on paper. With the win last night, Grant Co. will face WV in the first round of districts and I would not be shocked to see an upset.

Who played well for Boone?

Shea Evans gets a ball to fall in after rolling on the rim as time expires. WV had the lead for majority of the game which is impressive without one of their main guys, Townsend, who was absent due to illness.

Walton Verona just beat Trimble at Trimble without one of their main contributors in Townsend.

WV had it to around 7 with around 4 minutes left in the game, this team is much improved from last year and starting to gain confidence. Credit to Holmes for knocking down shots in the absence of Bolden, they shot a high percentage from behind the arc in the 1st half or else this could have ended up much different.

2 pretty evenly matched teams in my eyes but some may say an upset... Bearcats finding ways to win games that they lost last year.

Walton Verona beat Woodford County, not positive on score.

Clyde said that you could be hired without an education degree (I was hired with a bachelor's in Business), he also stated that you would have to be working towards your degree (I was working toward my degree in Special Education, hence the temporary certificate). You stated the he was incorrect, I was simply stating that Clyde is correct in what he was saying.

Actually Clyde is correct and I can testify to it. I was hired in Kenton Co. as a Special Education teacher on a temporary certificate while I was completing my Master's at Georgetown College in Special Education. My bachelor's degree is Business Administration, so I did not have full credentials my first year teaching in Kenton Co. but was paid on the same scale as all other teachers in the district.

I think Dixie matches up better with Holmes than most are giving credit for, can't wait for this thing to get started.
