9th Region Top Assistant Coaches

Featured Replies

Not sure if any head varsity jobs are open or not but who are some of the top assistants in the 9th that would make a good varsity coach soon?

I somehow missed this thread.

No secret I'm a big fan of Joe Fredrick as a coach. I say he'll be a head coach and will do well.

When Jimmy Pangallo wants a head coaching job he'll get one. Like Joe he is excellent with the players.

Do you think their not being teachers holds them back from being Head Coaches? I believe that each is pretty successful in their chosen profession and would much rather impact their given programs just as they are, without the pressures of being a head coach.

Not sure. They could teach if they wanted to, right?

I do not know the answer to that question. Perhaps someone could tell us if they actually have the credentials to be a teacher.

My understanding is that you can be hired as a teacher without an education degree. You would be required to work on getting the proper degree/requirements.

Any from any outside of the top 2 or 3 teams worth mentioning? Not saying those guys aren't great asst coaches or candidates, just wondering if there are any less "obvious" ones.

John Shields - Bellevue, if you're looking for a less obvious one.

What does Coach Shields coach? JV?

Also I would put in Kenny Collopy at NCC, Tony Baciagalupo at CCH, Mitch Shover at Beechwood, and Todd Downs at Boone.
