  1. Is that straight from the rule book?
  2. Let's remember Holy Cross' #1 back did not play and #2 left game for a long time suffering from cramps. I think if both those guys go this week you may see a different offense than in the Scott game. I really don't foresee a blowout in this one. One thing is these two coaches have a tremendous amount of repect for each other and both are class individuals and if one team were pulling away by a lot there would be a lot of underclassmen getting serious PT.
  3. The rule regarding chopblocks. chop blocks are LEGAL However, they can only be used against an opponent that is Hand down on the snap. They can not be used when an opponent is engaged with another player (referred to as post and cut). If you have a team that uses chop blocks (called 60 protection. there are usually a few of these penalties called. Lets face it these are teenagers and they will make mistakes ), and referees make bad calls. regarding the officiating for this game I thought it was pretty decent. Unless you are a coach and your focus is strictly on the Line then you can't say for sure if they were good calls or not. I personally witnessed a few of these infractions Friday. Most of what I saw was in the open field. Can't say about the others. As I stated before I do believe it was a fairly well officiated game. However the running of the clock is a different story.
  4. The receivers back was to the stands from the stands it looked like a complete pass. However, The ref from the far side was signaling incomplete immediately he may have had a better view than most. You sometimes have to give the benefit of doubt to those guys. The receiver could have been bobbling the ball I could not tell from my vantage point. But let's face it it there were quite a few passes that were dropped by the indian receivers.
  5. STILL counts as 3 points last I knew Nice leg

  9. I couldn't agree more. I know from firsthand knowledge how hard these kids have worked and they deserved to win this one. I also know how hard these parents work for the football program. I was in the stands with them last night and it was tough to watch. They had to watch a rerun of last years game. I really thought they had this game won. I would just like to say this to all the Scott PLAYERS AND PARENTS Keep up the good work KUDOS to you all YOU HAVE EARNED IT.

  16. Folks this one should have been a W for the Eagles had 14 point lead twice in this Game. score was 21-14 at half. But they appear to get away fri\om what was working in the first half. With about 2:40 left in the game the Eagle Defense had a great stop and forced the Indians to punt. Punt ended up on about the 3. Here is where coaching screwed the Eagles. They Drop back to pass and QB gets sacked for safety Score 21-16. After the kickoff Scott went into a VERY weak zone defense allowing a lot of room underneath and the Indians were able to move the ball down and get the TD. 2 point conversion makes score 24-21 Indian favor. With no timeouts left put eagles in hurry Deck found Spencer in between 3 Indian defenders. After a short gain the Eagles had to hurry and spike the ball with 7 seconds left. Scott lined up a field goal that would have been about 35 YDs but was tipped at the line Game over. Hats off to the Eagle players busted their butts tonight. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Eagle coaches office tonight. Deck did real well Defense looked fairly solid. Spencer must have had 300 all purpose yds. He accounted for most the yardage and had all 3 scores.
  17. DOES IT REALLY MATTER Na baby Na The only things that matter are the HIT, The Spits and the saturday Morning (expletive deleted) The Dehydration, The aggravation and the jubulious ELATION. It is Football. Its time to strap it up and put it up. There is nothing more exciting than that first Crushing blow under the FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS I don't know about the rest of you but this Dog is READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets Get it on
  18. That was Ryan Bianchi he is a better runner but Deck is the better of the 2 passers he just need to get more snaps. Basically when Bianchi was in he just took and ran IMHO
  19. With the exception of a team picking up a game in the first week the schedules are set.The 3A & 4A teams play each other with them alternately home field from year to year. The same format goes for the small schools as well. So the same team you play this year the second week you will play them the same week next year except you flip home field
  20. This is awesome list. From a coaches position I especially like #3,4,and 5. I This should be sent to every Varsity coach and copied and sent home with every kid.
