Big comeback for the Indians.

Congrats Indians you will need it next week against a high octane Bulldog team. Same old Scott I have to admit I was hoping the Eagles would get it together this year not a good start....

Scott really dominated in the first half but a turnover before halftime is what made the game. Scott, instead of running the clock out before the half and running the ball, tried to pass and HC came up with a big int which allowed them to march down and score.

 

Second Half Hc got a safety with around 3 minutes left to pull the score to 21-16. Then with about a minute and a half left Holy Cross got a huge catch which got them inside the 10 and Scott Baker scored two plays after. Scott made a valiant effort on the next drive marching down inside the 20 but a missed field goal with 2 seconds left sealed the deal for the Indians.

Folks this one should have been a W for the Eagles had 14 point lead twice in this Game. score was 21-14 at half. But they appear to get away fri\om what was working in the first half. With about 2:40 left in the game the Eagle Defense had a great stop and forced the Indians to punt. Punt ended up on about the 3. Here is where coaching screwed the Eagles. They Drop back to pass and QB gets sacked for safety Score 21-16. After the kickoff Scott went into a VERY weak zone defense allowing a lot of room underneath and the Indians were able to move the ball down and get the TD. 2 point conversion makes score 24-21 Indian favor. With no timeouts left put eagles in hurry Deck found Spencer in between 3 Indian defenders. After a short gain the Eagles had to hurry and spike the ball with 7 seconds left. Scott lined up a field goal that would have been about 35 YDs but was tipped at the line Game over. Hats off to the Eagle players busted their butts tonight. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Eagle coaches office tonight. Deck did real well Defense looked fairly solid. Spencer must have had 300 all purpose yds. He accounted for most the yardage and had all 3 scores.

Thought from what I heard out of Latonia this game would be won by HC by a much wider margin. IMO there will be a real dogfight amongest 4 teams for the 3rd and 4th playoff spot in NKY Class A. Congrats to HC on the win.

Congrats to Holy Cross on the win but im so proud of the way Scott played. They never quit they played hard. Few bad plays makes the game but give them credit they should have won but in the end they didnt. But couldn't be happier just hope they continue to play hard next week against Llyod.

Great post :thumb: Scott had the game won, but Holy Cross did what they had to do to pull out the victory. Great showing by both teams in the opening week.

I couldn't agree more. I know from firsthand knowledge how hard these kids have worked and they deserved to win this one. I also know how hard these parents work for the football program. I was in the stands with them last night and it was tough to watch. They had to watch a rerun of last years game. I really thought they had this game won. I would just like to say this to all the Scott PLAYERS AND PARENTS Keep up the good work KUDOS to you all YOU HAVE EARNED IT.
