You are not going to outwork Matt, period. The kid only knows how to work hard and puts in the time every day in the gym and weight room. Great kid with great parents that give him the support he needs. I wish him the best this year.

Is there a player in NKY that can over take CVH as the best player in this class? Four years ago nobody thought BHATT would be the number two player in the ninth his senior year, then Bolden exploded last year.

TBC defeated 606 and World Class Basketball today, they play in the D3 finals this evening. Good luck to them.

606 and TBC play each other tomorrow in the Elite 8.

606 and TBC both will advance to championship bracket. TBC probably went D3 for two reasons. One, didn't want to go to Arkansas for D1 or D2 and the Wilson kid isn't playing because of football. They picked up Austin Fries from SK which is a very nice replacement for Wilson. Fries is very active and has most post moves than Wilson but is two inches shorter than Wilson.

I didn't see the Bulldogs on that schedule?

The last Thursday on the Scott Freshman league wrapped up last night. Beechwood won both games beating Cov Cath and St. Henry. SK won both games beating Scott and Cov Cath. I also seen NCC get tied by Scott after Scott was down by double digits late. The youngsters for Scott, LJ and Nelson (both going into 8th grade) led the come back with tough defense. Thought the Scott tie of NCC was impressive since Ohmer was in Florida and not on the court.

Wow!!!! You didn't just really call a 14 year old kid a punk. You have some major issues dude that you need to deal with. Angel a punk, I would disagree with. I have known him and his family since little league baseball and have coached him as well in AAU. I have always loved the fire in which he plays with. You should get your facts straight on the reasons for Brent being dismissed from Grey before typing something on a message board. I don't see Brent on CC freshman team for long, I believe he will be moved up to JV. His is more athletic than any other kid on their team and does the little stuff like screen and get on the floor that some of those other kids don't do. The kind of stuff that coaches see but don't show up in a score book.

When u have 27 kids trying out you almost have to. Cov Cath looked good tonight.

SK will still go split squad to get everyone enough time on the court.

They also have Cole Hegyi that is an 8th grader that played JV last year. They have a few pieces for sure.

Will they play their age group or play up? With that talent I would think they would want to challenge themselves.

I thought I heard if you hold a kid back in 8th grade that they can not compete on the high school level that hold back 8th grade year?

What is the KHSAA rule about holding back 8th graders? Not just in basketball but all sports.

I watched the U14 KY Select team this weekend against a very good Cincy Bulldogs team. Bulldogs led most the game but the Select kids never seemed to worry, just kept doing what they do and pulled out a good win. This is a nice team, lots of parts. Team took a hit with the loss of Vonhandorf but it may have made them a better team overall. Looked like more of a total team effort with all their players stepping up.

Being an outsider looking in. You people in the know don't make this job sound to appealing. Sounds like their a little to good to play D3 but no where good enough to play D2. Sounds like this job will be used as a stepping stone job for good assistant coaches looking to be a head coaching job. If they want a coach to stay there and give them longevity they may need think outside the box and hire a solid AAU type coach. Someone who will stay there and develops kids thru their middle school system.

Did we just witness Hattons last game at Dixie? Lots of rumors of him going prep school route next year. If it was, I for one have enjoyed watching him the last fours years.

Great win with leading scorer held to zero field goals in Sampson. Walton had a great game plan to hold the ball till they passed 12 times. In the end it didn't work. Trevor Montgomery came up big with 12 points.

Fun game to watch. Cov Cath's PG is pretty solid. SK to many empty trips in the second half and didn't block out well. Toga night maybe the goofiest thing I ever seen at a high school basketball game.

Cov Cath vs SK in the finals. Cov Cath is bigger at the big positions but SK is much bigger and stronger at the guards spots. Cov Cath guards don't impress me much and they are going to have to handle the SK pressure. But on the other side SK is not near as big as the Cov Cath big three in the post. Should be a very interesting game.
