  1. They have the "All A" and the catholic tourney at beginning of year to get guys ready IMO. Plus they play a fairly tough schedule year in and year out. You get the 1 seed in that district and you're in the regional tourney. If you're the 2 or 3, maybe not.
  2. Any ideas from NCC fans why they scheduled two seed games in same week? That seems odd.
  3. Just curious why you are that shocked? Beechwood is very good but CCH is pretty good also and have a lot of seniors.
  4. If the varsity and jv games were today I would think CCH would be real interested since their games with HC were cancelled.
  5. It's the finals and they're playing Cov Cath. Holmes will show up !! I have no idea who will win but I do have one prediction. Coach L will find the spotlight somehow!! Good luck to both .
  6. For sure. I think we'll see a good one tomorrow night and let's enjoy it.
  7. Cards 97-65 Reds 88-74 Brewers 83-79 Pirates 80-82 Cubs 72-90
  8. Is PRP a bad matchup for CCH because of size or quickness or a little of both?
  9. By the time I was old enough to really remember any of the Reds players from the BRM, most were at the end of their careers or playing elsewhere. With one big exception: I clearly remember Concepcion dogging it down first base line sometimes carrying his bat half way down. Drove me crazy. No way watching that do I think he is a HOF! And still my least favorite.
  10. CCH by one at the buzzer on a jumper by Heppler. A little redemption for last year!! It will be a tight game all the way. Question for those who follow both more than I do? Who represents or has better chance at going deep in state?
  11. That was the 2002 team. Along with those 3 mentioned , the 2001 team also had Durr who played at WKU and Kunkel who walked on and made UK.
  12. TOG, I don't always agree with some of your posts but this one is spot on! Well said.
  13. So a guy going to his 3rd Super Bowl is a choker? What does that make Marino, Namath, Favre, Young and how many others?
  14. I have no pink. I've been wearing Colonel Blue for the last 25 years but today I will go to Dixie, buy a red hat and wear it proudly at the game tonight!
  15. God bless Dave and his family. Heaven just got a little better today!! Prayers from Park Hills.
  16. This got me to thinking of the 2000's and how the favorites did. Don't have any before that, wasn't around at the time. Year Favorite Result 2000 CCH won region 2001 CCH lost in finals 2002 CCH won region 2003 Boone(big run at end year) won region 2004 ? Beechwood won region 2005 Beechwood lost in finals to CCh 2006 Beechwood won region 2007 Ryle/CCH Ryle beat CCH in finals 2008 CCH? lost in finals 2009 CCH lost in finals 2010 ? Boone Boone won 2011 Dixie lost in finals 2012 CCH lost in 1st rd Congrats to Ryle and small ball sure won last night. Few hits, move them over and sac flys. Slow death. Congrats to Max also. Was kind of pulling for him to get one.
  17. So who else besides Highlands played Moeller and Elder? Granted, they had almost no shot at beating Moeller nor did anyone else from NKY but they could have beaten Elder. They, like CCH, were down a little this year. Don't assume that winning 20 games is easy to do. I think there were a few other teams in the 9th that arguably had more talent this year that didn't get 20. Congrats to Ryle. Very solid team and no easy outs from top to bottom. That is huge. BTW, enjoyed watching a team bunt quite well and kept the pressure on CCH. Especially enjoyed the drag bunt when the Colonels switched their 3rd baseman and Coach R did it the very next pitch.
  18. I'd like to congratulate the coaching staff at CCH, especially Krumps on winning the district. I have read about how so and so did this year with their teams but I think those coaches did a great job considering they lost 7 starters and their top 5 or 6 pitchers. I didn't see this team winning 20 games much less the district. He doesn't ask that you work hard, dedicate yourself and play the game they way it should be played. He demands it and that rubs some kids and the parents the wrong way. Can't handle the so called " old school" way. Boo hoo. I played for him many years ago and there were times I wanted to kill him but guess what - I was lucky to have had that disipline. I needed it more than I knew. If you want a buddy for a coach, go somewhere else. If you want to learn the game and a little about what life has in store for you after college, you're in the right place. It's a shame we have to use the word "old school". I see nothing wrong with that school but unfortunately, some people do today. Discipline has become almost a four letter word. Good luck to the Colonels next week. I still think the Raiders are the team to beat, especially on that turf. i would put Dixie as my darkhorse. Playing well right now.
  19. Which is exactly why the 1st round should be played at the district winner's home field. There should be a reward for winning your district and the biggest one I can think of is playing on your own field.
  20. I'm quite relaxed. Thanks for your concern. Wasn't trying to provoke, just wondered how you got your info so quick. Your post says 2:01, not 3:01. My mistake, I guess.
  21. The draw was at 2. You post this at 2:01. Are you an AD or do you have one of them call you like 3 seconds after the draw so you can post breaking news? You know right away and then post it for everyone to know before the coaches can even talk to the players and let them know. Just curious. May have to get you on channel12 as their "breaking news" reporter live at 11!
  22. They didn't schedule 4 in a row. They had to finish their district seed game that was rained out the week before. Monday was an off day originally.
