Class 6A Rankings for 10-29
So again, Scott County loses in the Title Game in 2011. Loses by 1 point to Trinity in the Semis last year and is undefeated this year. Bringing back the majority of those players. And that is the only losses they have on their schedules in 3 years.........But they cant lay claim to being the best this season so far, seeing that they have continued their trend of winning and other traditional powers have slipped a bit back to the field???? Folks will find out soon enough as the playoffs begin......

Why would it be irritating to see the 2 undefeated teams on top of the rankings. Are people supposed to punish these teams for being undefeated. You want to talk schedule strength, well you'll soon see in the playoffs if your theories are correct. Until then, the OP poll is accurate according to how every other sports entity in the world would rank it. Only in KY High school are folks discussing teams that have lost 2,3,4 games as being ranked higher. If a ranking is a snapshot of the ongoings year to date at that point, then the original post rankings are accurate. Unless you folks feel that the rankings are merely a hypothesis of playoff results. You should be ranked by what you've done or not done. Point blank period.- If you are a fan of KY HS Football you should be rooting for Bowling Green this week
I agree. Go BG. Why wouldn't we support them.- Someone help me with the rule...
Wonder what the determining factors to decide a 1 game or 2 game suspension?- Someone help me with the rule...
Potential huge happenings in cky 6A district playoffs and wanted to get some help with the rules. A very significant player was ejected from a game on Friday night for a "punch". They have a BYE this week, so how many games with player X have to sit in the playoffs due to the ejection.- Proud Tates Creek Parent
I wanted to take a second and as a parent show appreciation for Tates Creek Head coach Mike Harmon and his staff. Coaches out in tireless work that is mostly unseen and misunderstood. I think criticism and armchair quarterbacking from us as parents comes with the territory, but rarely do they get to hear the other side. I've gotten to know Coach Harmon over the last 7 years of being around the program with my son through middle school all the way till now and I don't know of many coaches that operate with as much integrity and fairness as he does. People can question calls, plays or whatever, but cannot say that he doesn't treat his athletes with fairness and that he doesn't do everything he can for them on the recruiting front. And will never ask for recognition, or any type of acknowledgement. There are always situations that arise, I have had my own, but I can honestly say, nothing he ever did didn't at least have my sons best interests at the heart of the issue. Coach is of the variety of coach that would rather lose with class and integrity, then to compromise his beliefs or what's in the true best interest of the athlete. He won't let a disciplined player play, or turn a blind eye on grades, or any other similar scenario. And for all of this, my son is a better player, and even more importantly, he is a better young man because of his time with Coach Harmon and his staff.- Tates Creek 35 Lafayette 28
So happy for this special Senior class. A group that is very tight knit and close. For them to help turn around an old power program back to the winning side of things is awesome. Also, the freshman and JV teams respectively finished at the top of the district as well and Creek will bring back some firepower next year from the Junior class that can keep Creek contending. And on a personal selfish note I couldn't be prouder of my son. He has played the game at a high level and has had a great season and has done it the right way. I watched SR night sad and happy at the same time. Hard to describe watching your child do something for the last time, (regular season) but I couldn't be prouder.- Inside Bluegrass Football - Week 8
Taylor has offers currently, and most of the names mentioned above are being looked at at some level for college. This is a special group of seniors and a very close knit group. Tomorrow will be a special night.- Inside Bluegrass Football - Week 8
You want to look at some of its top performers this year. Here is how they break down and have performed to date. OFFENSE GRAHAM GORDONQB has pased for 1825 yards and 24 TDs. (Good for 3rd in 6A yards, 2nd in passing TDs) RJ TAYLOR43 Catches 602 Yards and 10 TDs (2nd 6A in Catches, 4th in yards, and 2nd in TDs) TAVON DUNN 29 catches 416 Yards and 6 TDs. CASEY GRIMES 82 Carries 518 Yards and 6 TDs. DEFENSE EAMON NASR Tackling MAchine 79 tackles 6 for loss. RYAN BETLACH 55 TACKLES MAX SWEET 45 TACKLES Anchored on the O/D Lines by big Deion Webb and Jovan Blackburn. And plenty of other players that make plays on both sides of the ball and in the Special Teams. Tates Creek is a very solid team that is figuring out how to win. Making that jump is the toughest but they are laying a solid foundation for the younger groups coming that will have actually seen some success and will help lead the program back to its brighter days. ANy team not named Scott County in this area will have their hands full with Creek.- Inside Bluegrass Football - Week 8
Tates Creek is a solid team across the board. They have battled injury since the early portion of the season that has hurt them when they played tougher competition. But all teams have those same issues so Creek doesnt make excuses. Creek played tough games in losses to Henry Clay (1 score loss) and to Station (dominated the 2nd hald but lost by 10) and lost against a very inspired Clark County SR Night Team (by 1 score), in a game where Creek played without one of its best players in #8 Tavon Dunn 6'2 SR.WR. Creek really only laid 1 egg and that was at Dixie Heights were the wheels came off for a game. But really, Creek has been in every game that it has played. Creek isnt young per se, but they have a very good young corps that is coming up. Creek is actually a veteran group (23 SR's) that is battling more than the season. This class is the class that is turning around a program that has been on the short side of things for some time. This class has won 3, and 4 games respectively in their Soph. and JR years. Now it has already matched its best win total in some time at 5, and has a great shot on SR Night to win #6 and win the district and receive the #1 Seed and host the playoffs.- Inside Bluegrass Football - Week 8
Tates creek is 5-4. But I like the overall post- George Rogers Clark 33 Tates Creek 26
Don't know. But he played great when he did play. Thought he played very well. And threw 2 great passes at the end of the game that could have been game tie or winners.- George Rogers Clark 33 Tates Creek 26

Fun game to watch. Creek let this one slip away. Crazy ending. Saw some great football and effort being played by both teams.- Touching Scene....
Hats off to the Central staff, kids, and parents who were ever so gracious and concerned. The kids and staff prayed, the parents and families consoled. Was very impressed with their handling of this situation. Was touching to see so many people sharing that love and emotion that we all felt at that time. I wont forget that feeling.....- Touching Scene....
All State and NKY, apparently those prayers were answered. Believe it or not, from this scene where we all felt the worst could be possible, Tavon walked out of the ER at 230 AM that evening no more worse for the wear. Thank you for the kind words. Tavon is a great young man, and was a very scary time for us all.- Touching Scene....
At the end of the Tates Creek / Madison central game, Tates Creek star receiver Tavon Dunn was injured on a kick return that left him on the ground, not moving and unresponsive. This led to the final minute of the game to be run off and the remainder of the game cancelled and an ambulance to take Tavon to the UK Emergency Room. In a time where folks are worried about not shaking hands and what not, this was the scene between 2 rival schools praying for a fallen player. Surreal scene.....- Thought This might be interesting......
I think it's interesting to see the schedules of teams. May or may not shed light on some things.- Thought This might be interesting......
Very nice looking schedule- Thought This might be interesting......
Post your Team, Record, and the combined records of the teams you have played to date. Ill start..... Team---Tates Creek Record--5-3 Opponents Combined Record---31-27 - Class 6A Rankings for 10-29
