Potential huge happenings in cky 6A district playoffs and wanted to get some help with the rules. A very significant player was ejected from a game on Friday night for a "punch". They have a BYE this week, so how many games with player X have to sit in the playoffs due to the ejection.

Pretty certain it's two varsity games and not calendar weeks. If they dont have two games left, he will sit out the 1st game in next sport or season.

I seen a kid get ejected and he only sat out one game.

Never mind. Bell from Henry Clay was ejected. Report says "fighting."

 

I did see where some kids this year got only one game for fighting. Not sure how they make that determination.

Wonder what the determining factors to decide a 1 game or 2 game suspension?

It can be found on the KHSAA website. The original rule this year was supposed to be a 2 game suspension but that was revised apparently and because of the relative length of season of Football it was amended to 1 game suspension for football.

 

This excerpt from the document:

(8) Following the day of ejection, there shall be a minimum two additional games/ meets/contests suspension for any participant ejected from a contest with the exception of football, due to the comparative shortness of the football season. In football, there shall be a minimum one additional game suspension for any player ejected from a contest.

That is a HUGE loss for them.

All ejections are reviewed by the Commissioner and a determination is made by him as to how many games.
