  1. I agree that this will be a battle. But 1. Creek will score points on mostly anyone, 2. Dunbar does not pass the ball effectively, but will run wing T and triple option which can be difficult to defend 3. Creek has 2 very good QBs, the 3rd will be the QB of the future, he's really not in the Varsity mix, (although he will be a good QB down the road). The 2 QBs are both capable of lighting up the scoreboard, and I anticipate a bunch of points from both QBs.
  2. 42-14 Clay. DJ Jackson scored 3 TDs is what I know
  3. Seeing them up close and personal at our scrimmage against them. I really like their Soph. QB. Nice athlete with a good strong and accurate arm, and some nice speed. Also liked one of the backs, seemed to be very athletic, had a very nice catch and run after he broke a tackle to score against us. They didn't get much pressure out of their D Line against our Pass protection but did a good job against the run. All in all, I like the Boyle County team. Had a DB that had 2 picks, wore #15 I believe, that I thought was pretty good as well. Just some observations.....
  4. Had heard Rowan had a D1 running back that was committee to Hawaii transfer in. Did this kid play in this 48-0 route?
  5. I'd like to see the film to see the line at on both sides. I loved the Creek Pass Protection, wasn't as third with the run blocking. Liked the Boyle scheme of running full house backfield, and running the play action boot with the combo route behind it. The underneath route was open all night. Was a nice play that Boyle went back to over and over and is a great teaching and learning tool for the Creek LB's.
  6. Creek rotated QBs and I think the SR. Played a little better yesterday. They rotated series, and I really liked the young Freshman QB Burke. He really did some nice things.....
  7. Yeah. I really liked that young mans game. Did a very good job running the team and threw a very strong and accurate ball. I enjoyed his play.
  8. Yep. Outside of Creek holding out there best 2 offensive players for the game. Tavon Dunn completely and RJ Taylor for about 50% of the game, ( who in half of the first half's time had 5 catches for 95 yards and a 65 yard TD). Creek could have put up a bunch of points, but opted not to show much with Dunbar in the stands. Was good work for both teams. Creek got what they needed out of the scrimmage. And not teams seemed injury free, at least no major game stopping injuries.
  9. That shouldn't read that they only had 1 pass play successful as in only 1 completion. That should read as that was their pass play that they would run.
  10. I really liked their QB. Threw the ball well when they threw it and with a strong arm and accurate. They basically threw 1 pass play that was very successful all night. And that was a play action series with a QB boot to a combo route of a corner route and dragging either a TE across in a waggle route or a back out of the backfield. Really liked the Boyle QB.....nice player. Ran pretty well
  11. Creek rotated lots of players and held some olayers out tonight. As I'm sure Boyle did. Was a very positive scrimmage.
  12. Rotated the QBs. All 3 got good work in.
  13. By well played, I mean that both teams obviously got to work on things they wanted to see. Was a lot of rust and mistakes but all in all, a very effective scrimmage
  14. Very good and effective scrimmage for both teams. Boyle County 31-28 over Tates Creek. Saw some very good things from both teams and was a well played, seemingly injury free scrimmage. Good stuff
  15. I will come back and give a synopsis of the game and anything I can see from both teams.
  16. Yes. I think it's 6 or 630. Yeah. Should be some Great competition. Creek is a little banged up but I'm sure Boyle is too. Good to hit someone other than yourselves sometimes.
  17. Excited to see the pads popping. Really looking forward to seeing the big boys up front for Creek. Looks like an old school Tates Creek O Line, Big and strong. Looking for some good, clean, injury free football for both teams. Discussion, predictions......
  18. But make no mistake. Everyone around the program is excited with the QB position.
  19. I haven't heard anything named officially yet. I'd say the scrimmage against Boyle County this week will be the defining moment in the QB battle. And kids are fighting for playing time across the board. They are still ironing out several postitions. QB is just the most publicized position.
  20. Competition for any position cant be counter productive in my opinion. Each player fighting for their position with the winner earning the postion, would make them EARN it. And produce a better player because of it. And also, develop what would be the "BACK UP" in case of the worst case scenario, which can happen unforutnately. Having 2 capable QBs is better than placing all eggs in 1 basket having 1 fluke incindent ending any hope or continuity for the season. The player that plays the best will WIN the position and play better having fought for, and won the position. IMO.
