Does anyone know the teams in tomorrow's games at Bracken County? IK Nicholas Co. beat Silver Grove 10-0 today and will play winner of Paris-Bracken Co. tonight. Figuring Brossart will be one possibility in other bracket.

No one has ever answered the question from the KABC about how a sophomore makes the Jr. team list and a kid who is enrolled at a WV school gets an invite. Need more scrutiny about this list. Kids like Ruckel at Lewis County or other smaller schools should get more recognition. They often see best defender or double teams and face guarding and have to work harder to put up numbers for their teams. Ruckel finished in top 10 in the state in FT shooting, as did the junior kid from Nicholas County, but neither got an invite to tryouts. Just led their teams in scoring facing tough D every night and finished in FT top ten. Seems like coaches would want good FT shooters late in the game....

It was Metamora HS, near Peoria, IL. Sounds like he's shopping his kid for his next "big coaching job" and more recruiting exposure. Heard he's been at nearly 10 schools in 20 year coaching career...2 KY high schools in 3 years since coming to the Bluegrass State. Nicholas County loses seniors, Scott Keaton and Logan Fryman, but returns 4 of its top 7 scorers. They will likely start 4 or 5 seniors, including leading scorer, Tyler Newton (15 ppg). Duncan, Webb, George, Stafford, Letcher, and Sapp will provide scoring threats as well from outside. Junior Elijah McFarland (who started 10 games in '13-'14), junior J.P. Wagoner, and senior Drake Vice will also be counted on inside for the Jackets. Freshman-to-be, Spencer Morris will also be one to watch in the future. I look for them to play a different style and be more open on offense with focus on defensive improvement in Year 2 with Coach Newton. They could have enough to get out of the 38th district and get back to the 10th Region tournament in 2015. Free throws in the district semis kept them from getting past RC this season.

I understand the deadline for votes was after the 10th Region tournament. I heard the ballot went out on Monday and voting deadline was Thursday. I agree that Wilson had a terrific region tournament and was deserving like others on the Honorable Mention list. Congrats to all receiving honors!

Robertson up 7 after one. Nicholas only down 3 at half despite 10 for 21 at foul line. Nicholas fights all the way back to take a lead at 41-37, but could not hold off the Black Devils. Bluejackets hold Cooper and Edwards to single digits and lose. Played three times this season. RC wins two of them. In all three games, neither team reached 60 points. Pretty evenly matched teams who defended each other hard in each game. FT's for NC told the story on this one....

I must admit this seems like a surprise. Congrats to Coach Nethery and the Warriors!

Tyler Newton 14 pts./5 assists, Scott Keaton 14 pts./7 rebounds, and Logan Fryman 14 pts./10 rebounds for the Bluejackets. Washington led the Panthers with 17 points and Skelton added 12.

East has had some big wins over teams with very good records. This is not as big of a surprise for me. Could be dark horse to make a strong run in the 16th.

Surprised by the margin on this one. Harrison is hard to figure out.

Congrats to Coach Breeden and the Commodores. Huge win in what's been a difficult season.

Still...a little sportsmanship has to be applied. Play younger kids earlier and quit padding your scoring stats against a coach and school that took the right stance.

Jenkins has big night early for Breds and Pulliam tough at the end. Tied after 1st. HC up 9 at half. NC cuts 10 point lead to 2 late in third. Breds hit FT's late for final margin. Jackets led for 2nd night in a row by Sr. Center, Logan Fryman, with 16 points and 6 rebounds. 41 points and 20 rebounds in back to back nights versus Bourbon and Harrison. Should be in Top 15 KHSAA stats again next week in FG % and rebounds per game. Getting stronger every game. Surprised more NAIA and D-III schools have not shown interest.

Snapp is an outstanding player and prospect on the next level. The question is at what level right now with the weight concerns. He is a threat to shoot when he steps in the gym. Wait, correction...gets off the bus. To say he is 145 lbs., would be "stretching it".

The Harrison game tonight has been rescheduled twice already due to weather issues. It was originally scheduled on Dec. 6th and attempted to play on Jan. 2nd. Date was tentatively set, based on outcome of All A.

This game was a late add I am pretty sure. Heard they had a FR/JV DH already scheduled and asked BC to come over with varsity after they had game availability in their schedule.

Was not hurt last game. He just did not score in the loss to Robertson County. Missed games 2-6 with an injury, then he's been working himself back into playing shape. Came back and seemed to have a hard time finding his role on the team. Plays hard and gives the Jackets some toughness they need. Good to see him have this moment and finish in the game!

Good win for the Wildcats!

Brossart appears to be ready to take this tourney and advance to Frankfort. Thought this one might be a little closer.

Here's the scoop...buzzer beater by Ben Duncan of Nicholas County. Jackets down 71-69. Logan Fryman gets offensive rebound and is fouled on the put back. Goes to the line with 22 seconds to go. Sinks both FT's to tie it at 71-71. Bourbon comes down and eventually drives the lane and ball is either blocked or stripped and Fryman comes away with it. Drives down the court and passes to Duncan at the top of the key. He bobbles it, picks it up, looks up and launches from 17 feet with 0.1.4 seconds to go and sinks it. Nicholas was led by Logan Fryman with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Tyler Newton added 19 points with five threes. Duncan had a season-high 12 points and Scott Keaton added 9 points and 9 boards for the Jackets. Bourbon County had a big performance from Nicholas transfer, Landon Sexton, who finished with 26 points. Jackets improve to 8-6 and Colonels fall to 4-13.

Big win for St. Pat! That's why they play the games.
