Had the opportunity to take this game in and it appeared Conner puts a lot of pressure on both ends of the floor. Hendricks was very impressive for a freshman and Scott is a great player who seems to make players around her better. Pluto seemed to be a very good floor leader and did a lot of things well. The other guard Maines is very solid and is very athletic. #55 Porter did a very nice job off the bench and gave Conner solid minutes. The big girl Meyers seemed to struggle with foul trouble but if she can stay on the floor she will be a force in the interior. This team IMO can be very good but it appears all the teams in their district are playing well. I think the 33rd will be very competitive and would not be surprised to see anyone of those teams competing for the ninth region title. Good luck to the Lady Cougars.

Congrats to this young lady and her family. Saw her play this summer and she looked pretty solid at the point.

Any information on what colleges are looking at Dawn? I agree she should have a big year, she will need some of the players around her to step up because I am guessing she will see some defenses focusing on stopping her! What other players will Ryle be counting on this year? The loss of the big girl will hurt!

If Campbell is back at HC I predict they should be preseason number 1. Realize they lost some key senior leadership but this years team will be more athletic and I think will be tough to guard.

When do the girls come out? Can someone please post the girls once they do come out.

I do feel Jordan Scott is key to this team, as I have mentioned in previous post I also think this team can be very diverse, the PG seems to have a good handle of the team and from the little I saw can take the ball to the hoop when she needs to. They had 2 post players, seemed both around six feet, and had some girls filling in other rolls quite nicely. They had a girl who seemed to play very hard and could score. I think Jordan Scott would be tough to replace but she will need others around her to carry the load.

All the stuff that should not occur, parents questioning the coach, players transferring or not coming back and the end result a coach resigns. That kind of stuff. But with that said, they have talent, a new coach and a fresh start, good luck to the new coach.

Looks like a nice lineup with a mix of local teams and some teams from other parts of the state. Very much look forward to taking in some the games. Nice job by the Conner district and staff putting together a local holiday tournament.

I know a lot has taken place with Cooper and their coach but I still hear they have some talented players and in my opinion the 33rd will be down this year so you never know. I wish the new coach and the players good luck on this upcoming season.

Is the Meyers young lady a center? I agree she looked strong in the few games I watched this summer. I watched Conner this summer and they had two big girls and a point guard that looked pretty good. I also believe they have two talented freshman that played varsity as 8th graders. I thought the point guards name was Pluto and in another post someone said she is being recruited by some D3 schools. I agree Scott should be a beast this year for Conner. I also heard there is a group of seniors that have been playing together since grade school.

I believe to date that 4 girls have made verbal commitments, Scott (Conner/KY Wesleyan), Schafer (Highlands/Xavier), Sandlin (WV/Bellermine) and Voskuhl (ND/Celev St). To date pretty impressive, anyone know of other players be recruited?

OK you completely ignore the question, "what logical answer do you have to make anyone honestly think SK could beat Highlands". You obviously do not have any logic to support your blind observations. I know your heart is into SK and that is commendable but simple one sentence answers make you look like you don't know what your are talking about. You make SK look bad and if I were them I would ask you to find a new team to support.

Well let's think about that statement, down at the half and took Dixie everything they had to win the game in the end. I am in no way a Conner fan but you make such ridicules statements that it is hard to take you seriously. My statement about beating Cooper and Conner was to show how crazy you sound. I am sure on any given night SK could beat Conner or Cooper just like they could beat SK. In NO way could SK beat Highlands, and again what do you base that statement on?

And you base your ridicules statement on what? Highlands would beat SK by a landslide. Heck SK could not beat Cooper or Conner let alone Highlands.

I raised the thought last year that KSHAA basketball should have classification based on enrollment like they do in practically every other sport and most people stated how traditional and unique it is to have one true champion. While I do believe that is this case in the BSC I will go back to my argument that more teams, schools and most important players benefit with playing with schools similar in size. I know the current structure is "Holy" and "Higher" than the children that play but to me this subject is a great example of why basketball should have classification.

Very sorry, went back and you are correct I took your comment out of context. I still think you can measure how hype effects a player like a team but in this case I think Barker has played exceptionally well. He is still young and is one of the top QB's in Kentucky! Let's face it Conner needs to hold teams from scoring on them. I am not sure of the exact number but I am thinking they only held SO on 2 series. I am sure the Conner coaches are working hard on stopping drives and it will be up to the players to execute! Good luck to both teams on Friday night.

I believe your question was how to gauge "hype" and my opinion is wins and loses, if a team is hyped up to be very good and they then "lay egg's" in my opinion that is not living up to the hype which shows in the win/losses. Just my opinion and I am sure you will have yours!

Fair enough but I am not sure most people would agree, 2 sixth seeds in the NFL have won the super bowl (2005 and 2011) were those egg's laid by all the teams the beat? Everything is said in context that is always true.

I say this with the upmost respect but you say Cooper laid an Egg because they lost to a lower seed but if Conner who most likely will not be a one seed this year in the playoffs wins it is not the same scenario, and as for your friend I wonder how he feels about anyone saying his sons team laid an egg?
