Oldtime the details are useless. Half truths and discruntled parents. So this is the 3rd player that quit and she was a good player. Why she quit?, not sure but I have some ideas. In the end though it is her decision and hope it wasn't a mistake. Think she already picked a college so she has that going for her. As for why the other 2 girls quit, I will let you come to your own conclusions on that.

So are you saying that this game could have been much worse than 1-0 if Manual would have had these girls?

Corner kick defense may seem like the easiest thing to defend but in reality it can be pretty tough depending on the team your defending. First thing is the setup on defense. The goal keeper is responsible for putting someone on her near post (normally shorter, so she can see over her) and someone on her back post (quick reflexes, someone taller). The other girls jobs is the simply mark up. I don't mean 2 feet away or 1 yard away. I mean on top of them in their personal space. You should be touching that player, between her and the goal. Everyone has a mark and you sit two of your players who are not marking outside the box to clear the ball out or defend in case of a deflection. Of course the other team could outsize you and be able to win the header. Not much you can do about that, just try to keep her off the ball. The other team of course could play corners in the box, short or long. Major responsibility falls on the girls marking and the goal keeper. You have to play tough on corners, even if it means a little pushing and a little jersey tugging. Its like basketball....BOX OUT!!!

Great game. CovCath dominated possession but Birds capitalized on their counter attacks and got two goals on about 5 shots. Noah Sellers looks like he is back in form after missing about 2 weeks with a virus. His opening goal is one of the better ones I have seen this season. He also had the assist on the second goal. Bryson Day is the real deal for CovCath. That kid has D1 talent written all over him. Hopefully we see part two in the Regional Championship.

Unless your launching it over in the woods then I don't see why she received a yellow. Its good sportsmanship to just sit the ball down. Sounds like that is what she did. Heck, you can even just drop the ball, not an issue either. Are they going to start giving yellow's out for yelling at the ball girls/boys to give you the ball now? If I am out of position or winning the game in the final minutes, I am not just handing the other team the ball with a bow on it. I am throwing that thing down and getting in position. If they want to give out a justifiable yellow, then how about giving to goal keepers for stalling the game. I have seen that more this season than seasons past. Taking about 30 seconds to take a goal kick.

This is probably the best in season tourney in the state. Most of these teams are in the Top 10 for the State, as of last week that is. This might be worth the drive down.

I deleted the post because after reading your post a couple of times I got your sarcasm. I am a fan of Coach Wiefering as well along with being a friend. I apologize for jumping to conclusions. It was good to see the administration at the game tonight. Of course the gossip hounds and the haters stayed home, kept their mouths shut or stayed outside the fence.

I am trying to understand your point here. How did the program go into shambles at the parent meeting. I was there and didn't see what you are referring too. Did he strike a nerve with some parents because he referred to playing time not being equal..., not playing an upperclassmen just because she was a senior or junior..., playing the better play no matter the grade (Frosh-Jr.).., or was it the part about student athletes drinking??? Tell me please because I must have fell asleep during this shambles session. You can PM me if you don't want to state the reasons on the thread. It seems to me people have plenty of issues but don't want to state the reasoning.

It is exhausting but the same people keep bringing it up. So why keep throwing it out there? I don't have a speed dial to find out who the other complaining parents are or what their issues with the coach are. I asked you since you brought it up in your post. You can PM me if you don't want it brought up in the thread. I guess I could come up to some of the parents on this site and just ask them at the game.

Please explain Birdie and Jack. Don't just leave us hanging here. If so much went down last night vs Anderson then please tell us some details. I will tell you this...Anderson may not be ranked in the top 10 but they beat Loveland 2-1 and Loveland beat Campbell 5-0. Don't think we discredit Anderson just because of their Cincinnati ranking. As far as integrity....why don't you show some Jack and stop making your references. Everybody on this site knows that you are bringing up the coaches personal life. It has been commented on every post about HHS Girls Soccer. This is not the place for it. I will be in the stands tonight for the NCC game and would love to hear all these parents complaints about the coach. I was in the stands for South Oldham and Campbell County game and only heard one parent complaining. Should be interesting to hear what they have to say tonight. I will not need to be on this message board to speak my mind though. I think the AD should come to tonight's game and have a listen to these complaints. If he doesn't take care of this parent problem, that's right I said it, PARENT PROBLEM! Then maybe these parents need to be called out for it. I have no problem calling out a parent for bashing a coach in the stands. Not the time or the place for it.

I will give Camels credit for the good D after going down to 10 players. Camels have shown they are a tough team with some of their early season wins, doubt they were ever going to get destroyed even with 10 players.

Really....excited for a loss??? I don't think they were excited about a 2-1 loss. Fans of the Birds may have been satisfied with the outcome but the players sure weren't happy and that's who it matters to most.

I am failing to understand what this has to do with the Campbell vs HHS game???? Don't try to minimize the Bluebirds performance against the Pandas. HHS had NDA on their heels and NDA scores a great goal with less than a minute left. They both had some missed chances. That game could have been 3-1 Highlands just as much as 3-1 NDA.

That was sad. The girl was trying to make them stop. It was also amusing to listen to the Camel fan use a Bonanza reference with the name calling of "Hoss" and the Birds fan saying "You want a piece of me". Absolute joke. Parents always turn on each other about a call the ref made. The ref made the call not one parent or the other. If you want to be upset then be upset at the ref. My rule when watching a game is this....don't use "she" or "#". That is calling out someone's child and people take that personally. It's much easier to say "that's not a foul" or "they have been doing that all game". If the other teams parents have a rebuttal to that then they are a little to defensive and should probably "take a chill pill". That 80's lingo might be better than, you want a piece of me. It's a high school soccer game, stop embarrassing yourselves.

And here we go again with the Coach Wiefering rumors. A high school soccer game is public knowledge. People are there watching the game, see what's happening on the field, and hear what's being said. I think Morris is a class act. Have never seen any thing to make me think differently. As to why their bench got a yellow card....who cares. Now someones personal life is exactly that...PERSONAL. So lets leave it that way. As it was stated before....RUMORS. This is getting to be like a bunch of gossiping hens around the hen house. I have heard 50 different stories and not one of them are the same. Someones personal life should not be discussed on this website.

I miss the old days before this site when you kept your opinions like this to yourself because if you didn't you would have to face the person you were taking about. Good conversation and debate about a team or a sport is great. Personal attacks could have lead to someone shutting your mouth for you back in the day. I know if I was a coach listening to this I would probably loose my job because someone would be answering for these comments. Basically if you had a problem with me come say it to me.

Oh Gary your post started off with a good opinion then you went sideways. No reason to criticize a coach on here. Why don't you show some integrity and not criticize a coach behind a screen name and this website. I asked that this post be removed two days ago because of crap like this. Everyone thinks they know facts but Ft Thomas is one of the biggest rumor mills ever.
