Wow! All I did was congratulate the 3 kids that grew up in the 41075 area code. I think all 6 of them played in the Fort Thomas youth football league. And I also believe that they are getting a great education and will have the best chance at playing at the next level by going to Highlands versus what would have been their hometown schools. I also think the Greene boy was missed off this list?

I stopped in the expo today in Louisville and saw Ky Elite play. A handful of coaches were watching including an NKU assistant. Amazing seeing 18 courts under the same roof. Amazing to pay $8.00 to park (no re entry) and $10.00 each day too. I felt it was sort of pricey.

Where are the big tournaments this weekend? I'm assuming there is another tune up right before Orlando?

It might depending what the major influence of choosing schools is? It could be Affordability. Some choose for the religious education. Some choose for academics, and believe it or not some choose based upon athletics only. Of course there could be a combination of some or all of the above?

Often times it is because daddy doesn't think Jr. is getting a fair shake. That being said, I do agree teams like Beechwood and Highlands, etc. have football and academic programs that present themselves in a favorable light and often kids go there (or parents send kids there) on their own without being recruited. They are of course greeted with open arms once they show an interest.

The Wildcats lost a lot of seniors, but had a nice JV team last year. Scrappy without a lot of size. Biggest issue is you just never know who is going to show up and play. Tough district to get out of unless they can win the coin flip.

He has had 6 or 7 coaching positions and he is only 33? Sounds like he has some experience, but can't hold a job very long? Has he been run out of his past positions or is the grass always greener?

The Breds will have a nice mix of players this year. They have a solid player at every position with many scoring options. I'm a big fan of team play, so I don't think Highchew will be missed as much as some think. Loved watching him play, but with the talent they have this year they will be better served sharing the ball more than they have in the past. Beuter and Seibert have nice size for their positions and can shoot from the outside. Not sure how deep they will be this year. Last year they had some role players such as Andy Miller that will be missed. My sleeper player this year is Jake Haas. Played mostly JV last year but can light it up. Plus teams will have to focus on the known stars. I think he could get some minutes that will haunt some other teams. As for winning the region, Holmes will be hard to handle and the Cross has yet another transfer. Dixie sports one of the best players around and let's not forget about Cooper. I look forward to see how the Breds play as a team. It should be a fun year in the 9th.

Very nice player. Does so many things off the ball that makes him a great team player. Very strong, thought he may have been one of those kids that was just older than the others or matured early, but he has continued to hone his game and will be a nice D1 player. He will have a tough choice to make when the rest of the offers come in. Good luck to him.

Knew the Trentman kid had some hops, but very impressed of how he is snapping the rim on this photo. I've seen him a few times, sweet outside shot and good shot blocker. How big is he now?

I agree with your statement regarding these 2 very nice players. Ruthsatz would be my choice. I've seen Fox play several times and is very solid, but not the playmaker Ruthsatz is.

Was Bolden playing JV?

My guess is that is the second of many offers to come his way. I love watching the kid play. His defense alters so many shots.

Wow! What a way to lose a game. Over throwing the first baseman with a guy on third and 1 out? Sounds like a great game, just saw bits and pieces. Sad for Cain to go the distance and have that play end a great performance!

My guess you are thinking of Nick Jackson. He will be one of the best players around town next year.

Walls is what a small school like silver grove needs. What a shame. Good luck finding a guy that loves kids and works that hard for them. Geez, I hope is was not because he played too many games?

I don't think that will be an issue. Couple of nice players at GC but SK is cream of the 8th crop.
