Oliverio - Ryle Kaleigh Clark - Conner Carlee McCarthy - Boone. Although they will probably move her to SS this year with Johnson being out and Knotts handling the majority of the pitching.

Saw Ryle a few times last year and I believe she was at 2B each time. Maybe she played some 1B early in the season before they repositioned some players. I would think Hammes will be playing 1B for them this year. Who knows Oliverio may be playing SS this year. She is a nice player and could probably make that transition. It will be interesting to see but I will guess they will keep her at 2B, depending on who they have to put at SS.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. While Crupper does throw harder, Smith has better stuff IMO. Ball has very good movement, has better change of speeds and she hits her spots much better. Don't get me wrong, they are both very good pitchers and I would take either of them on any day, but to me I would go with Smith every day.

Does Finke play travel ball? If so who does she play for? Who does Koors, Garret and Schreiber play travel ball for? I know Quillen plays for the Naturals.

I believe Oliverio played 2B last year. She did play 1B as a sophomore though. I believe Hammes played 1B for Ryle for most, if not all of the season. Molly Dietz did play 1B last year but will be catching this season for the Cru.

I would respectfully disagree. While Smith and Crupper are both excellent pitchers I still think Smith was their best, but maybe one could say they were both equally as good. It just so happens that Smith is such a great athlete and so versatile that she was asked to play another position, and she did. Therefore Crupper got the benefit of pitching most of the games. Must be nice to have the luxury of having two great pitchers. Good luck to both players this season.

I would go with the following: Schaefer - ND Greis - Brossart Hammes - Ryle These would be my top three. Schaefer and Greis definitely the top two. I am not too familiar with the Stanley girl from HC but will plan to watch her some this season. Any others notable of mentioning?

Seriously? Why mention all the details for a game like this. Just mention the score, the three seniors for senior night and Futscher scoring her 1,000th point. Those are all notable and should be mentioned. Brossart won by 42 so obviously they dominated all statistical categories. Why rub it in? And then to go on and mention the scores earlier in the year of the Silver Grove and Heritage games and Silver Groves record. This is totaly unnecessary. As Chris Berman and the boys would say, "C'MON MAN". Congratulations to Sarah Futscher for scoring her 1,000th point. That is an awesome accomplishment and she has another year left to play. Good luck to both teams in their district tournaments.

NewCath has definitely owned Highlands over the past few years. However, based on the rankings I would think that Highlands would be favored in this one. Playing at home can't hurt either.

I thought KY schools were only allowed two scrimmages per KHSAA rules. Has that changed? Just curious.

I agree with those mentioned, Garrett - Dixie, Koors - Cooper, Finke - ND. I will take your word on the Herrman girl, but since she didn't play last year I will have to see her play this year to add her to my list. Since she didn't play high school ball last year how long has it been since she has played? Did she play any summer ball? Could be rusty but since she is such a great athlete I am sure she will make the necessary adjustments and will be very good. I would also agree with the Baugh girl from SK. I know she is not in the 9th but definfitely a very good catcher, and only an 8th grader. I would also add Quillen from Highlands and Schreiber from NewCath to the list. To be honest you could also add Smith from ND to the list. While she is one of the best pitchers she is also a very good catcher.

Anyone know who will be cathcing for Boone County this year? Heard their young catcher from last year transferred to St. Henry.

Good question. I would guess for Conner it would be Roark. I believe she was their JV pitcher last year. Have no idea for Ryle or Boone though. Additionally does anyone know who will be the starting pitcher and back up for SK this year?

They did until they moved up the start of the season last year by about two weeks or so. Really not sure why they did that. Season used to start sometime in the last week or two in March. Now I think it starts like sometime in the first week or so of March.
