  1. That was then this is now SK handled a much better CAL team last year by 4 scores I would think it may be close at half but SK should pull away. Never say never though.
  2. I would think the lure of open enrollment in Kenton County may appeal to several of the Boone County coaches. Not sure if any apply but I would think they would at least give it a glance.
  3. Doesn't sound like you know anything about either kid. Both are PWOs and both are on academic scholarships. Not sure what you are insinuating but I would expect both to graduate with EKU degrees.
  4. As I said in the post, to me it's a cultural thing. You can't continue to lose all the kids they have over the last 3 years and be successful. Fire Inside said if the kid loves the game he should play in spite of a program deficiency. That may be true but it is in no way a way to build a long term successful program. If Steiner can change the culture, more power to him, if not they need to find someone who can. The kids that are there are playing hard and playing together the problem is that over the last 3 years they have lost to many basketball kids. Yes most also play football but the kids I mentioned in the above post were all brought up through the AAU system. They have been playing basketball since they were 6 or 7 years old. That many kids don't just lose interest in the game.
  5. The fact remains there are two very different cultures within the football and basketball programs, one program has kids flocking to it, the other not so much.
  6. Racke, Vance, Kincaid, Carter, Murray, Hayden, Cooper, all football players who played basketball their sophomore year and chose not to after. Add in Cottrel who was a starter his junior year and when he decided to play football as a senior became a bench guy who was only getting 6-8 minutes a game prior to him leaving the team and you end up with a roster needing 5 freshman and an 8th grader to fill it out.
  7. Their weight room will have state of the art Hammer Strength equipment. They are a showcase weight room for Hammer Strength. Once it is finished the Pittsburg Steelers are coming in to look at it. Their nutrition bar is going to be one of the tops in the country.
  8. It is supposed to be complete by September. Also their new weight room and nutrition center should be done by the end of February and their new locker rooms prior to the kids reporting this summer.
  9. I really like what EKU is doing in state, both with scholly and PWO offers. I would love to see them improve by getting more in state kids, get back to doing damage in the FCS playoffs. On a side note does anyone know what EKU's average home attendance is? I can help but think it would improve with more KY kids on the roster.
  10. Seems like you have your finger on the pulse of the situation. You must know the lazy kids or at least the entitling parents.
  11. And exactly who would be responsible for a lazy disinterested team? Who is responsible for the mass exodus of players over the last two years?
  12. Barker's sample size is much smaller and there are multiple rumors that Drew's back was hurt as early as the second half of the Southern Miss game. Time will tell with him. As for Steven Johnson it seemed he dropped the ball every time he was brushed up against. He has to get much stronger to have a shot at the starting QB position next year. In my opinion he has the least upside of the three that will be competing next year. Lack of intermediate passing skills and the ability to hold on to the ball when hit will be his undoing in my opinion.
  13. It looks like the final list of NKY players on this roster are: Rondell Douglas WR Boone Co Armand Jackson RB Conner Sander Roksvag DL Cooper Derrick Barnenes LB Holy Cross Cam Racke QB Simon Kenton Luke Vance WR Simon Kenton Congratulations to all involved especially those chosen to represent NKY
  14. He may have the worst ball security I have ever seen. The change to the running game is what salvaged the season not Johnson's play.
  15. I am fine with the way the season is currently set up. If they were to shorten the playoffs by one week I would be in favor of an 11th regular season game
  16. Stall Ball? They scored 74. With a 26 point lead most people consider that calling off the dogs.
  17. I could be wrong but I don't think that is exactly how that works. As stated below I think he loses a percentage of his buyout and it may very well be more than the 800K WKU is paying.
