  1. Anyone have results from today's games?
  2. I know SK went from one tub to three this year and probably could use more.
  3. Rumor has it that football coaches from Ball St and another D1 school were at SK this week. They may or may not have talked to the football coach. Who may have or may not have mentioned a 6'5 250lb 14 year old wandering the halls. They may have or have not showed some interest. Wait D1 schools only show interest if they offer a scholarship so I guess they were asking for directions to St Henry.
  4. I find the fact that HHS does not keep defensive stats incredibly interesting. Why would a team choose to keep offensive stats but not defensive? Serious question, with no defensive stats wouldn't that hurt a players recruiting? Before you go off the deep end, I know HHS has had a ton of great defensive players recruited. What I am asking is if you have two kids you are recruiting who are very close in your graded talent wouldn't the one with definitive stats have an upper Hand? I could also see it being an issue in the initial stages of recruiting.
  5. One of the best posts I have ever read. Great job coach and good luck to both of you.
  6. I just spoke with Colton's dad and he does have to pay for the Duke camp. Sorry for the misinformation.
  7. Once again I do not know all the details. Maybe since this was an invite only camp, nobody gets charged. As far as them knowing him, I have no idea if the family has sent something out or if it is the SK coaching staff letting these programs know about him.
  8. I don't know all the details I am a friend of the family and asked permission to post this so I only post the details given to me. With that said I don't know rules but I am guessing in home visits are not allowed a "chance" meeting at the school with the kid is acceptable.
  9. H The coaches of all mentioned schools talked directly to Colton. The Duke invite was specific to him. He is attending the camp free of charge and was told he was 1 of a 150 invited to this camp. The O-line coach for UK also verbally invited him to their camp this summer. He said something like we need to get you down to our place so we can start coaching you.
  10. Not sure on specifics but the meetings were at the HS. I believe the Duke invite was mailed to the school addressed to him.
  11. I was talking to a friend in the know and young Mr Williams has had visits from UK, UC, and Austin Peay in the last week. In addition Duke has invited him to their big man camp this summer. Colton turned 14 in September and currently is 6'5 250lbs and wears a size 15 shoe. Sorry no Hudl video he played freshman football last year.
  12. I am pretty sure Troy Roberts is heavily involved with the scheduling of this tournament so you can give him the credit.
  13. S Open enrollment does not overrule KHSAA eligibility rules. Open enrollment only allows a family to choose any school in the district to attend. The only stipulation is, if you don't go to the school you are assigned to, you have to find your own transportation. Miller's reason for switching schools last year was that he moved to a home in SK's territory and he did not have transportation to go to Scott. I don't believe Muck had a change of address so he must get approval from the KHSAA.
  14. One week from tomorrow, Friday April 24th.
  15. I believe they are, just walk right in.
  16. While I think living in Southern Alexandria is an easy fix for both his and his wife's commute. Mason Co better bring something special to the table as I get the impression he truly loves the program he has built at Cooper.
  17. Dixie lost everything, Ryle will be a challenge, Boone still has no coach and the program is in turmoil, HHS will be a good one, CAL is 2A and Scott HS not Scott Co will be good in 4A but will struggle with the depth of talent of SK.
  18. 7 wins or less and this team will have underachieved.
  19. Under the current system all first round games are travel within their respective regions much shorter distance and possibly local rivalry ties. Do you really think the one seeds fans will travel several hours to watch a running clock game and what about how many fringe fans of the local team are going to come out for that? By doing it your way both fan bases will be deminshed.
  20. You are right that system would get us closer to a true top final four but it would come at a huge financial cost. Your current scenario would guarantee every first round game be a travel game. Then you factor in the gate lost by having your 8 seed travel at least an hour away to get beat by the one seed. How many fans are you going to have travel for that? You would suffer reduced gates and a massive travel expense increase.
  21. Nope I understand what you are trying to do. You are creating regions then splitting them 1,3,5,7 & 2,4,6,8. Once again this allows for two teams from the same region to make the state championship game but it does not change the fact that the best two teams could be on the same side of the bracket. It also creates a lot of tie issues with that many teams in a region and travel skyrockets. It is easy to say we want the best two teams in each class to meet in the state finals, it is just very difficult and a logistical nightmare to do so. There is a reason most states are set up with regional pairings to be played prior to moving on, and I don't like dividing a region based on rankings with tiebreakers.
  22. How does seeding by region change anything? In your first scenario you are pitting districts from different regions against each other now it seems you want to remove them all together. I am not following your logic at all.
  23. How is that seeding thing going to work? Form committees for each class? Does the committee come from that area, if so how do you insure no personal agendas enter the equation? If from a different area, do they know enough about the teams and opponents and how do you prevent favors being passed from school to school? If done by wins and losses all teams will soften their schedule. This is high school athletics and you are operating with very limited funds, no way in my opinion you can pull this off once you factor everything in.
  24. I am also curious in this scenario how do you guarentee the best two teams make the final? What if the best two teams are Louisville 1 and Lexington 1? Or what if St X and Male are the best two teams? They are in the same district. Your scenario only guarantees that every region has a chance to have two teams in the finals nothing more nothing less.
