My point is Danville has enough speed, that as long as that play developed into him turning the corner and going up the side line there should have been 3-4 defensive players getting to the ball with good pursuit angles and preventing the 1st down much less a touch down. I think instead of playing agressive defense DHS had to many spectators watching waiting for somebody else to make the tackle on that play. Coach Lucas is a good coach and it shows on the field with the way his team plays inspired and execution of a good game plan. I wished I could say the same for DHS.

Where is the Cornerback?:idunno: Line Backer?:idunno: With Danville's speed where are the other defesive backs,:idunno: SHS #22 was tough and gritty but by no means a speed demon.:confused:

Coach Harp said they practiced with lite contact. It showed, no agression, getting blocked into the ground or all the way to the sideline, I don't want to hear JK Howard was out and sickness and blah, blah, blah! I actually thought this team had a chance to make it to Bowling Green this year, but now I have serius doubts. Some of Danville's lineman need a boot to the hind end. Its so frustrating to see this type of performance from a team that is so much more capable of what they showed tonight.:madman::madman::madman:

Congrats SHS. I think Coach Harp is Hard headed and limits himself to one thing in his game plan. How can you have 2 weeks to prepare and your team plays that uninspired. Then on the sideline Harp shows no emotion, no time outs to inspire his team, just walks arounf looking at the clip board. He knew he was facing a tough defense but insisted on running the ball and getting stuffed. Its like beating your head on the side walk until it bleeds. That is stubborn. BlueXpress you seem close to the program, What is going on?:idunno:

I remember that night well, and back then only the winner of the district got to advance in the playoffs. I don't know how far we would have gone, but we were firing on all cylinders at the end of that season. I think Danville has a good chance Friday if they don't turn the ball over a lot and give Somerset short fields to score. I also like the fact that when Danville kicks off, the ball is going in the end zone, and 80 yards is a long drive if your Offense is not dominate.:walk:

Hatz, I can't really speak for BlueXpress, but maybe he was thinking like Somerset that has held Danville from winning the district and advancing in the playoffs. I know when I played, Woodford County would knock us out of the playoffs, it just seemed we couldn't jump that hurdle.

Jk Howard, one of Danville's biggest lineman won't play Friday, and will be out 4 weeks due to surgery on his hand. Also, Michael Jones another big lineman had four wisdom teeth removed last week and may be feeling the effects, plus several cases of a stomach bug have slowed some palyers. We will just have to see what effect this has on the game. I think I heard Somerset may have some injuries.

Danville has an open date this Friday and then plays Somerset at home the next Friday. I haven't heard any updates yet on his status for returning to play.

I agree, some of those rankings look off to me.

JK Howard plays Center on Offense and Tackle on defense, He is a very important piece of the puzzle for the ADS to go deep in post season. He is usually the biggest player out on the field 6' 4" 300+.

Danville comes out looking good first half, but not as good in the second half. Coach Harp played alot of young guys on defense in the second half again and Green Co. rolled up 300 yards on the ground. To the GC radio announcers GC didn't get that second half yardage on Danville's 1st team Defense as you said on the radio. GC #20 great player with good speed. My biggest concern is JK Howard was injured in the first half and did not play in the second half, the word is He injured his thumb on the hand He already had a cast on. Hopefuly He is OK.

Taylor County is undefeated, BUTTTT I just saw who their competition has been in the Advocate Messenger on line version of the paper. This will be no contest. BC will shut them down on offense and run over and thru their defense. Boyle Co. is 2-3, but played way way way better competition. I say running clock in the 3rd quater.:eek:

I'll take Danville 35-7, I think the Ads will come out more focused and ready to play, traveling to Green Co. is never easy but it may help get them ready to play.

Danville hasn't played with much intensity since they beat Boyle Co. But when they do they are really good, so the Green Co. outcome depends on which Danville team shows up. When Danville is focused and playing with emotion, they are probably the best team in 2A right now.

I just read the game story on amnews.com. It talks about Coach Harp playing a lot of players trying to build depth. I hope this strategy pays off, but it was sure a momentum killer last night. There were several times when Danville could have put the hammer down, but young players were in there making mistakes and getting man handled which allowed Southwestern to control the football way too much. When it comes district crunch time Danville's best players need to be on the field.

Danville looked pretty good in the 3rd Qtr, beyond that as Charles Barkley would say terrrrrrrible! Danville slept walked through the first half, flipped the lights on in the third and cruised across the finish line in the 4th Qtr.:idunno:

I am hoping SK will win and continue to win. If they do, that it will make me feel more and more confident in Danville's ability. I haven't seen Holmes play but when SK needs some tough yards they just run behind the BIG O-LINE and push people off the ball. They also have an efficient passing game.

I will go with Somerset in this one, and I think they should be #1 in 2A right now. I'm hoping Danville doesn't let the win over Boyle go to their head. I don't think they will and I think Coach Harp has some good chemistry and attitude going with the ADS so far, but until and IF they defeat Somerset, I think the Briar Jumpers are #1.:thumb:

Until Danville gets over the Somerset hurdle, things are wide open for class 2A.

I think there was a bad snap in the 2nd half in a shotgun formation, but Danville didn't get any points on that one. The rest were forced.

Way to go ADS, you guys surprised me. I was going to be happy with keeping it close but you guys played your butts off. When Boyle made a big play and came back you didn't let up. In my opinion Danville's line made the difference. Also I was really happy with the way Danville's secondary played, they gave up some yards but made some great plays, the best I have seen in a long time. Now take this win and build on it and keep working, this could be a special year with continued play and effort like tonight.:thumb::dancingpa
