Taft is supposed to be one of the best teams out of Cincy.... CCH is suspect, compared to usual, so far this year, so maybe Taft did play down. That said, CovCaths style of play, if it’s the same as usual, will always give teams like Taft trouble.

I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong here. Hard to win on the road, and even tougher to win at Cooper, I knew that, but didn’t see this coming. Cooper completely shut down Draud and the rest of the group followed. Excellent work by Sullivan and his staff for orchestrating this lopsided victory over a really nice team.

Dixie played Beechwood in region, at Dixie. Dixie played Campbell out of region on the road. Beechwood rolls Dixie by 30+ at Beechwood. Just something to consider.

2? I don’t believe they do. Dixie was also ranked as a top 5 team, they aren’t. Remember, that is all pre-season hype. They “real” shakes out in season. That said, I think CC is that good. Not sure about the entire 10th.

Agree that Draud isn’t all they have. I believe people are not giving Beechwood enough credit. Win or lose tomorrow night, they are a team to be reckoned with. Goetz does a nice job as well. Often underrated. I think Beechwood has more fire power, but Cooper is at home. However, the difference for me is that while Cooper has a great defense, Beechwood is very solid/physical on D too. As previously stated, going with Beechwood in a stunner on the road. Cooper is an awfully tough place to win, but I think Beechwood can do it.

I would say nice win for Brossart, but I’m not sure how good Holy Cross is. Either way, sounds like Brossart played a nice game after the first few minutes. I know they have some tough kids and an intelligent coach. Well done!

Beechwood by 9 on the road. Coopers D is tough, but so is Beechwood. Beechwood has kids that can score from all angles. They play smart and efficient. They are a together-team.

I agree with this. Not sure how good OC is yet. But, I’m taking Walton-SK-Grant, in that order. SK is not all KN, as they have nice pieces around him. Do they need him to play wellto win big games, sure, but most teams do. Will be interesting to see how it actually plays out, but right now, I have the Bearcats, Pioneers, then Braves.

Even before the loss... but, now, even more so, Carr will have Holmes on a mission tonight at rival Newport.

I believe GRC has been overrated. By that I mean, I don’t believe they are a top 10 team. Maybe top 20, but they haven’t impressed me for a while.

I’d agree with this. Very nice player and probably Dixie’s best overall player.

Taking Beechwood in that one. Too much fire power. Draud has been a man amongst boys.

Brannen and Draud are tough, but Beechwood seems to have a lot of kids who do the little things that help win games. Bieger, Hughes, Downton, Detheridge.... they are a region favorite in my opinion. Have the guns to play with anyone. Plus, coaching.

I am of this mindset. Beechwood by 17+. Playing so well and a superior team.

Very surprised to see this go into OT. I followed all evening on BGP and it seemed that NCC was up double digits for a good portion of the game. Good for St. Henry on fighting back. Games like this will help NCC as the season wears on. They are earning how to win with a very new group. And, huge kudos to Mullikin and Veith on the monster games!

I agree with the rankings, though with the Highlands win over CCH, and Newport loss to Campbell, I may have gone Highlands at 4, Newport at 5. Btw, Newport lost to Campbell by 14, not 20. I am interested to see how the next tier of 5 will stack up.... Conner, Holmes, Dixie, St. Henry, and NCC. I’d also toss Holy Cross in there. Ryle has done nothing to this stage, barely competing in several games.

Did CCH & Cooper drop off that much, or did Beechwood, Highlands, Newport, St. Henry just get better? I guess you could look at it one of two ways. I think CCH & Cooper will be there in the end. Highlands and Beechwood would may just be able to give them a better game, as they have improved.

I know OC has lost a few players from last years Sweet 16 team, but how are they projected this year? Must be pretty good still, as Highlands has been dominant in NKy.

That’s a good win for the Neers. Neace is playing some serious ball. All his team, he just needs kids to play their role. Unreal.
