Cooper's Lexi Held hits 1,000 points
Congratulations to Ms Held. That young lady is a big time ball player. She is a joy to watch and, from what I am told from Mrs. sevens, she is a joy in the classroom as well.

Morgan Simpson (Walton-Verona) scores 1000th point
Congratulations to Walton-Verona's Morgan Simpson for scoring her 1000th point tonight. The milestone was reached on a NBN three pointer from the right wing in the third quarter. The senior finished the game with 23 points. Way to go MO!!! :dancingpa:

10th Region Player Of The Year
The bolded is highly incorrect. Davenport and Johnson are clearly amongst the 9th regions best.

9th Region Player of The Year....who is it?
Technically, it is not related to this thread since Ally is not in the 9th region. I believe the honor she received last year, that you mention, is actually a NKYGBCA (Northern Kentucky Girls Basketball Coaches Association) award. There is at least two schools (Walton Verona and Lloyd) that are in this association, but are NOT in the NKAC (Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference) This association is made up of schools from 3 regions (8,9,10) and 2 conferences (NKAC and NCKC). All this being said, the award is technically the coaches association award, not the NKAC conference or regional award. And yes, there is an associational POY voted or named for each division. Ally would certainly be eligible for this award again. If I am wrong on this, someone can correct me, but I am pretty sure this is correct.

Walton-Verona 68 Williamstown 62
Final from Williamstown Walton would lead by as many as 18, however as soon as you thought the Bearcats would cruise to victory, Williamstown makes a 4th quarter push to tighten up the game. The late surge included a couple of deep Michaela Kennedy threes, one being just behind the volleyball line.:ylsuper: For Walton-Verona, Hailey Ison went to work for 34 pts., 17 rebounds:eek: and 7 assist. Morgan Simpson finishes with 12 pts. Emma Rodgers hits 3 threes for 9 points.

Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament Draw Set
IMO, they would rather be on the same side, then over there with Etown, Murray and the Louisville teams. lol

9th Region Player of The Year....who is it?
I think she does. There doesn't seem to be that one overwhelming obvious, dominant player this year in the 9th. There is probably a handful that have a good chance. IMO Ms Davenport is one of them. Ansley has had a great season thus far.

SK has open dates in February.
You all know that when UKfan puts on an SK jersey, he's D1.

Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament Draw Set
I fixed it for you. :thumb: And I would add Anderson Co and Shelby Co.

Walton-Verona 54 Grant County 34
Not quite yet. Williamstown and SK still need to play. If SK beats Williamstown, then this will be the seeding. If Williamstown wins, SK, Walton, and Williamstown would finish 2-1. I assume a coin flip would them determine seeds 1-3.(Grant having lost to SK, Williamstown and Walton should be a for sure number 4 at this point)

Walton-Verona 54 Grant County 34
Final from Walton Verona. For the Bearcats... Hailey Ison 18 pts, 7 rebounds Morgan Simspon 17 pts, 9 rebounds. (If only one more rebound) Brooke Perry 11 pts The Lady Braves were led by 8th grade Abby West with 13. That girl can shoot the rock. Congrats to the Bearcats on the district win. And props to Coach West and the Braves for playing hard and not quitting. Without some injuries the Braves would be a very good ball club.

Ryle 51 Highlands 40
Great job Lady Raiders! I know some of those girls are friends off the court, but I am sure they got after each other pretty good. Congrats Ryle on the win.

Simon Kenton 70 Bishop Brossart 29
Hopefully that means good news for Emily. She just plays so hard and swats a lot of shots.

Trimble County 58 South Oldham 30
Agreed. Consley has made herself very effecient in the low post.

Simon Kenton 70 Bishop Brossart 29
I very much hope Schultz is okay. And Brossart is no where the same team without her on the court.

All A State Tourney (Team & Individual Stats)...for the stat junkies
Wow! That is incredible. After all that, one thing I noticed that was interesting is the two teams in the finals had the most turnovers. I guess this is only because they both had 1 more game than everyone else. That is a mind blowing collection of stats though.

Murray 45 Owensboro Catholic 28 (All "A" State Finals)
Congratulations to the Lady Tigers! They dominated some pretty good and well coached basketball teams. Looking forward to seeing them at BB&T in a little over a month.

Murray has the chance to be the 1st........
:ylsuper: At this point, I'll be rooting for them both. That would be an awesome experience for their school and community.

Murray 65 Newport Central Catholic 39 (All "A" State Semi-Final)
I think what makes Murray so good is the fact that in addition to their length, speed, skill and athleticism. They have all the parts. As a team they are put together with all the different pieces 1-5 and bench. Even more than that they are very unselfish on offense, very discipline on defense, and very well coached.

Newport Central Catholic/Murray (All "A" State Semi-Final) updates
Coach Clink tried that yesterday. Honorable but didn't work. Lol

Newport Central Catholic/Murray (All "A" State Semi-Final) updates
Exactly. Been in hospital with my dad so it is appreciated!

Newport Central Catholic/Murray (All "A" State Semi-Final) updates
I would think that Murray may defend davenport similar to how they defended Walton Verona's Ison. Using a zone to build a wall to keep her from penetration and double teaming at all times to force the ball out of her hands. In short, I am sure Murray knows they have to do something to keep her from rolling. If new Cath can keep from turning the ball over as much as Walton did then they can maybe keep it close. If Murray shoots like they did yesterday, imo, it's lights out for the Breds. Walton seemed to hang better with Murray when they pressed and sped the pace up in the third quarter so maybe new caths ability to play that style will help them. I could be wrong on all counts... I'm just rambling.

Campbell County 54 Mason County 41
Hmmm. I said in preseason that Campbell looked to be the top team in the 10th. I guess for now, they are.
