  1. Beechwood has no problem getting to the state semi-final game.
  2. This will be the 1st game in along time that Mayfield is not guarenteed a victory. From talking to some folks that have seen both teams play in person, it seems that we are much faster than them while they are much bigger. I am sure that they will come into War Memorial with revenge on their mind's from the 59-14 beating last year. I dont think if we played our best it could be like that this year and I think we will have to have one of our better games to beat this squad. LHC will try to run the ball down our throats and take time off the clock. We will do what we do, which is spread the field and pick your poison. I think if we play a good game and dont make turnovers giving them good field postion I like our chance's say in the 28-7 range. If we dont come out hitting all cylinders it might be along night.
  3. Thank you VoR And we know Beechwood could be our toughest game this season.
  4. Graves and Greenwood are not terrible both teams were actually very hardnosed. Graves, especially was good and they were just a few points from having a 7-4 season. Milan , which as you say was just a scrimmage and it was but they are ranked #2 in Tenn in class 3A , we handled them easily which gives us something to go on. It doesnt count on the record but it doesnt matter to us, it was still against a very quailty opponent. Anyway in a few weeks you will see how we fared with our schedule and I have a special place you can put that ball gag. By the way, up to this point Beechwood has played opponents with a combined record 48-73 Mayfield's opponents have a combined record of 52-68 You NKY people are always skewed on how you think you play this great schedule, guess what, you don't.
  5. Mayfield in my opinion plays a tough enough schedule. We had a very tough scrimmage to start with Milan Tenn, PT, Graves, Greenwood . We have had some cupcakes too. If you get too hard a schedule, especially a 1A school, you run the risk of injuries with not much depth as the bigger schools. Our schedule is as hard as Beechwoods and like I have said Beechwood hasn't beaten a really good team , other than NCC, in 3 years. You will beat Ludlow though.
  6. This thread is silly. We all know the real contenders are but some are mentioning just about anybody. All state honorable mention types. Plus the orginal thread talked about Marcus Dupree and the best there never was , again no real contenders but a bunch of all region players.
  7. Marcus Moss William Murrell Derrick Parrot Mikey Bright All great Mayfield running back I'd put that 4 up against anybody's else's in the state and I can add more.
  8. Scott County Frankfort Glasgow Boyle Warren Central Eastern Lafayette PRP Jefferesontown Fort Campbell 50
  9. Best QB we saw imo was the Caldwell QB, he had a very strong for just a freshman. The PT QB was pretty good but we knocked him out a few plays before halftime. I don't think KCD prepares us for anything
  10. Max Preps has: Beechwood #13 in the state Mayfield #20 LHC # 37 Hazard # 57 Fairview # 68 like I said it's Mayfield's or Beechwoods to blow according to just about everybody. More than likely Hazard will get the chance. Could a cold, wet, neutral field even the odds? Sure, but even in that enviroment , MF and especially BW have power running games that shouldn't be stopped by the likes of Hazard or Fairview unless they have fumbling issues (Murray 97) .
  11. I guess the real "reasonable" reason for me is that people who have seen Fairview,LHC and Hazard in person dont really think they have a reasonable shot. Obviously in your mind you think they do while most people that aren't connected with these programs dont. You are the only poster that I have heard that that has even mentioned Fairview even having a remote chance of winning the state title. Besides you haven't really given a real good reason why any of them could, except that you just think so. Some of reasons I have are based on talking to a few people that have a better handle on the teams in 1A than the average fan or even fans like us who get a little more involved.
  12. Mayfield and Beechwood, I'm sure, will give all teams their proper due and respect. Come the 1st friday in Dec you will have your answer. UK, you could say your logic is as baseless as mine except mine has some odds behind it, 19 state champions my way, 0 yours.
  13. [ A bad reason is better than no reason at all. I disagree
  14. The easiest of all class's to predict a state champion or at least get down to 2 or 3 is class 1A. Every year you have 2 maybe 3 contenders, then a few mediocre teams that have great records but can't really play and then a whole slew of terrible teams. Ballard a few years ago fell into catagory 2, mediocre team with a great record. So far, Mayfield is on a 25 game winning streak and only one team (PT) has really taken it too them. Beechwood has that chance and I'll give LHC an outside chance if the moon and stars align. You can just about bet your bottom dollar the 2011 state champ will be Mayfield or Beechwood.
  15. I doubt I will travel to EKY to see Fairview play. However there are people out there that have a pretty good grasp of their ability. I'd say Fairview has the same chance of beating Mayfield or Beechwood as Kentucky does in beating LSU.
  16. Joe needs to hire you to be an advance scout.
