I know Pettrey was good and I believe he and the Raceland team came to Mayfield one summer but I would put him as one of the best not the best. Kickers like David Akers(Tates Creek) and Rob Bironas(Trinity) were great kickers and all pro's.

That may be true But anyone who saw Jonathan Jackson play will say he was one of the top players in the state. If I'm not mistaken he was 2nd team AP last year. Does it really matter ? No, but when you look at the list's you like to think they got it mostly right.

That still is non conclusive because you dont know if #8 Ross had touched the ball as it went by and when #47 M.Jackson's hand went to his back. If #8 touched the ball before #47 wrapped his arm it's a no call. Do you know that ? That's a great picture, who took it?

Heck, Jonathan Jackson was 1A player of the year. Seems like a joke to me. I know these are all good players on the list but Jackson is a great player.

When Mayfield used to face Danville they were almost like a mirror of the Cards. Well coached and they had more than one playmaker. They always had a physical line. Well coached but they had talent too. Has the talent well run dry, I mean the kind of talent that dominates teams and wins state championships. Danville had teams that could play with anybody in the state. Where have they gone?

Beechwood has to do something to stop Mayfield.

It seems it's been awhile since our friends from title town have been a contender for a state title. Is the near and far future bright for the Admirals?

I know exactly what you are refering to. That end of the endzone should be blocked off. I saw that guy yelling on his bullhorn, it should never happen but it was techinically outside the stadium. It should be better policed.

Congrats Hazard. Mayfield didnt look like Mayfield from 09 through this game, we looked like the 07 or 08 bunch. Yes, Jackson has a slight torn mcl or thats what I was told earlier in the week and he wore a brace for this game. We never got a ground game going and Guhy was put in a tough postion. I thought we did a good job on Hazard earlier in the game but when they switched to a wildcat and spread the field out they started moving the ball some. The free 3 points at the end of the half didnt help nor did the interception on our 30, which they took for a score. The game was played and Hazard did a good job on defense and with the lead the were able to get a few 1st downs and move the clock. You have to give Hazard credit because nobody thought that they would win this game but they did. So, congrats Hazard 2011 class 1A state champs.

Not saying this players isn't good but am saying noone else is close is farfetche'd... to say Jackson is not even close...come on

I watched a little video on wazoo sports, I dont think Mayfield should take Hazard for granted. They dont look like a bad team at all.

Has to be, he was in Mayfield at the Beechwood / Mayfield game in 09. I know he didn't drive 5 hours as a casual fan.

That is a sad comment to make in public. You may have sour grapes with Bw but somethings are better left unsaid.

Live on tv? Where? And is it on the internet? I didn't know it was on tv. I talked to some people who were very close to the sideline and they said it hit a Mayfield defender 1st plus I talked to a coach who didnt think it was pass interference. Mayfield says it wasn't, Beechwood says it was, I'd like to see it myself in slow motion because to my eye it looked like ball and players all arrived at the same time.

I met Duke42 at the 09 BW/MF game. He's the one that told me Bw was too fast for Mayfield. I can see now after all the comments he don't know jack about football.. Also, everybody should make a decent effort to try to spell these kids name's correctly but if they are off a little lets not go haywire.

Out of the 5 times the two teams have played 3 have been hard fought battles. Last year was a tough match, 09 wasn't so good for BW. However, Beechwood wil get us at some point, they are too well coached and the ball might not bounce our way at some point.

Rash is a good guy, you tell that he is. I dont agree that it was clearly pass interference
