Great effort by both teams. #44 for Beechwood is a warrior. Very exciting game, it went right down to the wire. Jackson had 181 rushing yds and no telling the tackles, I'm told.

Sounds about right. 78 team was pretty good. 70 team with Fowler, Ford, Robert Mayfield, Anderson was good too, they got took out by Madisonville which had Sonny Collins, Jones, Fabel. Fowler got his knee tore up in that game, tied at halftime , I was there.

Yes some people think it was Mayfield's best Yes a Beechwood supporter did say "best team in history of 1A" Non is worth debating, Mayfield had a very very good team but we have plenty of those teams and I would put 2010 in top 5. As for 2011... continueing story.

Should be a very good game. I think most of us have had fun "debating" our teams this season , a few feathers have been ruffled but its all been in fun. The game will be here shortly and this will all be over till next season. I like Mayfield's chances but I know we will have to play a great game. I know some of you Beechwood supporters are thinking the same about your team.

All the Mayfield fans are excited to play Beechwood. We used to get excited to play Danville. Its always fun to play the top tier programs in the state. NCC was one of those , PT and a few others. Next season we start off with Warren Central and Madisonville , those games if we win will give us more respect because us small schools can't seem to get any unless we beat a few of these teams.

I say Beechwood has a chance and a darn good one because they are asolid team. However, I still like Mayfield's chances much more.

Mayfield played Harrodsburgh in 95 with a start time of 3 pm central Mayfield won 21-0 In 09 Mayfield played Beechwood with a start time of 6pm central In 10 we went Beechwood with a start time of 7pm eastern.

The paper says a 7:30 central time kickoff , that's 8:30 Beechwood time. I was told it was requested by Beechwood , which seems strange since it will get the fans who choose to drive back home at about 4 or so in the morning. it seems to me it could get Beechwood out of kilters with the late start.

I have said Beechwood has not beaten anyone in 3 years except NCC twice. It looks like NCC wasn't as strong as thought since their early exit. Mayfield hammered Murray , who beat the new #1 team in 2A, Owensboro Cath. Mayfield has stepped up to the plate all season long. The 1st team defense has given up just 40 pts while their offense has gotten better and better. Mayfield is better on defense this season than last and is now just a step or so behind on their offense. I don't believe Beechwood has improved enough to win this game unless Mayfield makes mistakes and gives it to them. If Beechwood is the better team and wins, I will be among the 1st to say congrats and good luck in BG. Mayfield 28 Beechwood 7

Mayfield has beaten Beechwood twice in title games , 95 and 02.

I think winning 16 times and 15 times for MF and BW is pretty darn good. You generally play good teams and getting to the state title game is an achievement
