    I say let Hazard run with the tag of #1 in 1A for the year. Mayfield has a good shot of losing the 1st game anyway. Mayfield had the "pleasure" of being the hunted last year, let Hazard have it.

    If Mayfield plays with or beats WC does that mean WC has no shot at the 5A state title? And does this mean no school in 1A has a chance?

    This is the first game of the year for these two teams that are both ranked high in each of their class's. This will be a very tough game for Mayfield and will show us what what kind of squad we have and what we need to work on. I'm hoping Mayfield can hang in there and possibly sneek out a victory but a well played game with no injuries will be nice to have also.

    A scrimmage score alot of times means nothing. By the end of the year which team will be better, Conner or Beechwood? Beechwood has proven over time that they can make teams better from start to finish.

    I like Jordan Tyler (#32) sophmore, he can really really fly. I'd find a spot for him on offense.

    Both teams will use this to find strengths and weakness's. I'm more interested in how BW does than Conner. I believe from what I have heard about BW is that there are a lot of question marks going into the season. I can guess BW's main strengths but there are probably some unproven players that need to prove themselves and this is their 1st chance.

    Mayfield played as the #1 team all season and went into the State Title game on a 29 game winning streak. A very good Hazard team and a flurry of injuries ended that. If Mayfield stays healthy all season I like their chances more than anybody's.

    #1- injuries- last season Mayfield lost 3 full time starters going into the State Championship game plus Jackson and Scott were not at full speed.(Hazard was a deserving Champion) #2- keep getting better as the season moves on. I think with what Mayfield has returning and as long as nothing goes haywire, I put them as the team to beat in 1A.

    Nothing wrong with Beechwood. They have had nice runs in the past and they will again. Mayfield is having a nice run but they won't beat Beechwood forever. It will be interesting after Jackson leaves but there is a nice bunch of good atheletes on the way up. I look for BW to develope their players as the season moves on and be a threat for the title.

    I agree , Mayfield was beaten solidly. Mayfield was a beat up team going into the Hazard game, 2 or 3 linemen out plus Jackson hurt along with Scott. Also, Mayfield probably took Hazard for granted somewhat. In the end Hazard was the best team that day and they have the trophy. I am going to say 4 teams have a shot this year going on what little I know and they are Mayfield-Hazard-Beechwood and Frankfort.

    Be glad Mayfield and Danville weren't in the same class with Beechwood at that time. A lot less crowns would have made it back to NKY.

    Barring injuries its Mayfield in 1A. Beechwood may have a tough time with FF but if they get better as the season moves on and other teams have injuries, BW will be in the thick of it.

    Beechwood is always well coached. The key will be to make those sophmores become juniors come playoff time. I like Mayfield's odds against BW this year but after that, the tide could turn somewhat.

    He should have a monster Senior season.

    He has gotten out of control. People tried to make a normal life for him but he seems to want something different. The thing is he's very book smart, got a 25 on his ACT.

    I liked Max Nussbaum from Beechwood this year. He was one of the best players that I saw. I thought he might make it somewhere.

    One player I didn't see on here was Max Nussbaum of Beechwood. I thought he was one of the more outstanding players I saw all season. He was a true warrior who deserved a spot somewhere on this list.
