  1. So apparently, Algebra 2 is being removed as a required course for graduation. While 4 math credits will still be required to graduate, once the mandatory Algebra 1 and Geometry courses are completed, students would have room in their schedule for financial literacy. And maybe that would become a mandatory course for graduation.
  2. Curious about your thoughts on how high schools look today compared to 10 or more years ago. What are the major changes in structure, instructional practices, scheduling, etc? And...GO!
  3. From my limited experience, it seems that the schools with at least one standout are able to build a successful team around her.
  4. I really feel that with girls basketball, you have to have at least one super star standout.
  5. Glacier National Park is magical!
  6. Super bummed for my 3 kids at UK. It sure was a great ride. However, Auburn played a better game today. And I see no reason to hate Coach Cal. Just as all season it was collaborative team wins, today was a UK collaborative team loss.
  7. Seems to me that everyone on this thread is privileged. We all have access to some kind of an electronic device, so we must all have some kind of financial means. (Privileged?) We are all intelligent individuals, and I’m going to guess that most of us have education beyond high school. (Privileged?)
  8. What stood out to me is the unfortunate Cline missed free throw attempt in regulation. With just a few seconds left, if both free throws are made, Purdue goes up 4—and it will take more than a buzzer beater 3 by Virginia to go into OT. But still—Cline had a tremendous tourney run.
  9. Fighting. Long delays while refs were looking at a billion different video angles to determine who was intentional and who gets ejected.
  10. It was 81-79. Can a mod edit? Crazy game in the Big East tournament. 3 players ejected.
  11. I don’t know. i would find that surprising. I think that most of these church fish fries prepare their own I know that at Immaculate Heart of Mary, as soon as the last student comes throgh rhe lunch line on a Friday, a group of volunteers takes over the kitchen and begins the Fish Fry prep. They make the batter and fry their own, as well as make all the other entrees.
  12. For the folks in Florence/Union area: Immaculate Heart of Mary is excellent and St. Tim's is very good. Both have eat in as well as carry out. You can stay in your car, as they have kids coming to your car to take your order.
  13. Congratulations to Cov Cath, 9th Region champs. Well done on a great season, Beechwood! Talk about continuous improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. Was really hoping the Tigers would make the trip to Rupp.
  14. Big Michael Spencer fan. I wish him all the best. Cooper is going to need a new floor general. IMO—that guy is someone who did not even play last night—-Zac Jennings. On another note—-why is it so hard for players to do the math on the court? Recall that 4 plus 1 is 5. So if a foul needs to happen for a chance to regain possession, jump in and foul—don’t leave the job to your teammate who has 4 fouls. Even my elementary b-ball player knows this.
  15. Cooper had too many missed buckets and were out of position for the offensive boards. Congrats to Beechwood. Hope they keep it rolling.
