All too often, high school teams are all about the almighty point guard—the most talented guy on the team. Keep feeding him the ball and let him showcase his skills for all the college recruits to see. Everyone else on the floor is his supporting cast. No thanks. Give me a team that works together cohesively, where it’s not about one guy getting his stockpile of buckets night after night. That’s what I want to see.

Love it when principal Mike Wilson leads the student section in that one cheer—where they mimic him and go left/right/up/down/etc. Is there any other principal who does that?

Before the game, I was kind of disappointed, thinking that Cooper had no student section, and that Highlands had 2 student sections—one on each side of the court. Then someone told me that the Cooper kids were all in blue tonight, to support the Highlands community. I looked closer, and I recognized some of the Cooper students wearing blue. Man—I’m so dang proud of those kids!

Great night of high school basketball!. Conner is well coached and they came to play. Enjoyed watching the Conner band re playing and dancing. Big group of Conner faithful showed up. It was a much closer game than I predicted. Sullivan had a plan and he executed it.
