I am not talking about AC. He is definately in the same category as Simpson. I am talking about Kramer. Also, after talking to UK coaches this past weekend, Simpson is moving to safety like many thought he would prior to signing. They feel like he could be a likely starter next season at that position.

I have not dog in the fight for either team. However, it was very noticable this year watching both teams play that Highlands had far superior team speed over Boyle. IMO, it will be a long night for Boyle playing Highlands early in the season.

Do you believe what you are saying. Having any kid that doesn't come from your town is a huge advantage. Also, Highlands loses no one to NCC that isn't from a Newcath family. However, I know plenty of schools that have lost kids to Highlands through the years from Kenton, Campbell, and Boone county. Also, they even had a couple of kids from across the river in one class a few years ago. As far as being a public, they are an independent. That means they can choose to accept anyone from out of district and are also able to set their tuition according to what they want with help from local base. Therefore, they have an advantage over privates who have to keep tuition set high enough to operate due to a lack of a local tax base. Their run being impressive is them taking advantage of their situation, both in being able to get athletes, and being able to set work standards high due to their community tradition. However, they also have a lack of state competition in 5A. Overall, 5A has been weak since the six class system started. Who is the 5A state champion not from NKY? You also can't talk out of both sides of your mouth. Either you think they are the best program in the state, or you think they have been impressive with their lack of draw and numbers. Which is it?

I don't think it is as impressive as you say it is that they have accomplished this while playing up in class. We all know that Highlands has a much lower tuition than private schools. We also know that while their numbers are not that high, they have a very select football teams with players that are not all living or from Ft. Thomas. It is not only numbers, but the specific quality athlete that your institution can attract and allow to attend. It would have been extremely impressive if they would have played up to 6A.

Central would not score on the Bluebirds. They rely on broken coverage and missed tackles. They are not very good up front. Ask Christian County, you don't score on Highlands by letting speed break tackles behing a poor line of scrimmage.

Covington Catholic has beaten them many times as well.

I don't jump on your bandwagon very often, but these are all good points.

Brossart, Highlands, Newport Catholic, Newport, Bellevue, and Dayton. No they don't have the same limitations, but they don't have very many tuition students.

A game scheduled between two teams who are having trouble filling their schedule. Not to mention, good competition.

Ryle did call Boyle. As for a run at a title, the formula for a title will be different with having to beat Highlands. The point about the Ryle game, as someone bought up earlier, is that Boyle is having trouble scheduling games. Why wouldn't they play Ryle who is also having trouble scheduling.

Once again, could you give me some numbers. The only player that stands out in my head is 45.

I am asking a qestion. They were asked to get a game. They declined. Both schools have the same two weeks open and could schedule either week, so why would they decline. It would be a good game for both teams.

As far as Boyle County, I understand that they have weeks three and four open on the listserve and were contacted by Ryle to play, who has the same weeks open for next year. Boyle declined. I wonder why?

Highlands had everyone who played in the finals, at least at the start of the game. Also, Ryle was missing four players who had started at the begining of the season. Ryle's best ball carrier didn't play for 19 minutes of the game due to a deep thy bruise. I think they found a way to overcome that adversity. Highlands was beaten by a team who was better up front that night.

As far as I am concerned, it doesn't in Kentucky to places that make noise year in and year out.

They had a player tapping his helmet to come out the first time the oppenent put together three first downs. Stances were poor. They lined up incorrectly several times. They lost at the point of attack and bounced it several times during the game, something that you won't do against a good football team with sucess. They also had a celebration penalty and multiple offsides. IMO, they didn't look like a very good football team.

Poor stances, poor snap count and motion discipline, obese in multiple positions to the point of tapping a helmet to take yourself out of the game, lining up incorrect, unsportsman celebrations.

I would say 42-7 Highlands. Central looked entirely too undisciplined to compete with the Birds, something that Highlands always takes advantage of.
