  1. So you have no problem with Dale keeping money that was promised to a scholarship fund? That is a load of crap. Highlands has one of the largest gates of anyone in NKY. Its fine for him to lie, but if someone backs out of a game, they have no moral rectitude. Wow!!!
  2. This has not been done by a contract. It has been a verbal agreement for a charity in Tom's name.
  3. Warner has never lied to me. If you think his word is worth nothing then you are sadly mistaken. Setting up a game and canceling before contract is not breaking your word. Game scheduling is not concrete until the contract is SIGNED. That is why games are done under contract. Is a coach that cancels a JV game for one reason or another "breaking his word?"
  4. The locations are supposed to charge at minimum $5 per adult and $3 per student, but most charge their gate price if it is more.
  5. Are you saying I was trying to hide that his kid lost a scholarship? What is a $1000 that was lost to that kid vs. the thousands that he is taking out of the fund from the gate vs. Trinity. His reasoning was that his gate is down due to NKY teams not playing him out of district. He is claiming that the program needs the money, so he can't give it to the scholarship fund. Yippie........He makes decisions that benefit Highlands over his obligations to the scholarship fund and the association.
  6. I would doubt that anyone that was at that meeting would call it a misunderstanding. I know that both of the head coaches I spoke to on the matter did not.
  7. His word??? Have you ever changed your mind on a decision? Games are changed all the time in the coaching world before contracts are signed. Not giving a gate to a scholarship fund when you had promised to do so is not common. I am glad that there are some posters that have a problem with it, but there are many that obivously see any decision made by Dale to be great and "good for the kids and program." There is no doubt in my mind that he thinks keeping that gate is good for the program. However, his reasoning was that no NKY teams play him out of district so his gates are down. Keeping the money from that gate is not the way to make it up.
  8. Ask ANY head coach in NKY. It occurred. I am sorry that it has a bad taste, but it is a fact.
  9. Look back again. There were many posters questioning his character, word, or whatever term you would like to use prior to me posting on this thread. As far as a pot shot, I brought up a fact. I understand it is distastefull, but it is a fact that occurred. If you want to know the reason for the series being dropped, you will have to ask Coach Warner. I am sure this game will resume someday, but it won't be played for the next two years.
  10. The rhetoric comes when Highlands fans question his character for backing out of a contract when their own head coach just kept a promised gate from a scholarship fund. The hypocrasy in Ft. Thomas is stale.
  11. Of course it is blah blah blah when it comes to the Highlands head coach shafting the scholarship fund, but it is an atrocity that Coach Warner changes his mind on a playing contract. Give me a break. As far as mediocrity, I am aware of two schools in this state that have a winning record against Ryle in the last decade that play often during the regular season. I love how not winning a state title in 6A is mediocre. Newsflash is that no one has won state in the large class outside the city of Louisville in the last fifteen years. We saw what the best in 6A did to the mighty Birds in the preseason. They are on a flat different level that Highlands does not have to compete against to win state.
  12. I would say the real reason is that Coach Warner doesn't feel like the game is in the best interest of his program for the next two year cycle. Seems pretty simple.
  13. Thats my point. You know that Dale didn't drop the game because he told you so. I know that he didn't pay the gate that he had promised because I have gotten the information from two head coaches that were at the meeting. My point is that you don't have to be somewhere to know what occured. I am aware that Coach Warner dropped the game and I am certain that what both of those head coaches have told me is correct.
  14. I have an idea, ask ANY of the head coaches at the meeting. No I wasn't there, but I have spoken to two of the head coaches that were. It happened and I love that instead of admitting the flaws of the action you want to cry for some kind of proof. Under that mode of thought, maybe Dale dropped the Ryle game. I mean, what is your proof that he isn't the one at fault. Im guessing that he told you so. I am getting my information from the meeting in the same fashion.
  15. Not that it matters, but the KHSAA change the distict title for two seasons. In 2006 and 2007 regular season was for seeding. You played the first two rounds of the playoffs with your district with the winner of the second game winning the district title and going on to the region.
  16. That is far from the truth, but it seems you are interested in creating your own version of it.
  17. Not true once again. Dale did promise that gate pre season to the association, then he reneged on the money. This just happened last week. It is funny, however, how fast the fact that coach Warner dropped the game got on to this sight.
  18. highlands-bluebirds.blogspot.com/...to-participate-in-tom-potter.html Here is an old address that talks about the first year Highlands was going to participate in it.
  19. Yes, it happened at the October NKY head coaches's meeting.
  20. Actually it does, ask any coach that was at the meeting. It happened and you are trying to figure out a way to make an excuse for it. The truth really hurts in this situation doesn't it.
  21. You are a real unbiased source over anything involving Warner, that is obvious looking at you post through the years. Dale has committed a much more classless act by taking money back from a scholarship program than taking a game off of his schedule. The fact is you only see perfection in everything the birds do, which is a joke. Warner didn't hurt any kids in the area by taking that game off his schedule. The only good thing from this conversation is that he will likely make sure he still gives his own kid the scholarship that they will be missing out on, but what about the other kids that could get one from that gate. I wonder what Tom Potter would think about this? My bad, im sure you don't care about that either, speaking of sad.
  22. I have said nothing that isn't the truth. Do you deny that this happened?
  23. Is Mueller's word worthless? The point is that he has made a decision for his program. Keeping a gate is ridiculous.
