My apologies......a nonperforming school was the academic reason that I was refering to. I stated it incorrectly. I am fairly certain, as far as test scores are concerned, it would be pretty easy to become eligable for a transfer from Holmes to Holy Cross under this heading.

Really?? Ryle gets around 20% of one county with no tuition students or open enrollment.

From what I understand it is to allow anyone who is interested to meet one on one with the coaches and discuss any aspects of the program except for playing time. I plan on attending, and I am sure Coach Warner would love to answer any of your questions Clyde.

That is the problem, the criteria is very loose.

The way that this rule is gotten around is a transfer based on "academic reasons." The transfer can be shown to benefit the student's academic future to the board of control. If the criteria are met, the student doesn't have to sit out for a year.

Rumor=Nonsense

I am not a Highlands fan in any way, however, after watching BG this weekend I was disapointed in their conditioning. They had several obese linemen that walked on and off the field, and sometimes during plays. This was most glaring on the defensive side of the ball, and would have hurt them against Highlands. I can remember a punt where two of their overweight d linemen didn't move the rest of the play after the ball was kicked. That type of effort and laziness out of starters makes it tough to ever beat a team as disciplined as Highlands, but their athletes might have gotten them past the difference in discipline.

Ryle only had ten seniors if you don't include kickers this season. That didn't stop them from beating SK.

I don't think Lexington coaches demand the training and discipline that they should within their programs overall. You have to be willing to lose some numbers to establish discipline to take a public program to its highest level.

St. X is going to do the same thing in the playoffs to Trinity.....So do they belong there over someone else?

IMO, that doesn't spell improvement if you finish the year 4-8 and lose in the same round of the playoffs.

Travis Elliot: 12 carries for 193 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. 1 48 yard touchdown reception. Kickoff returns 2 for 104 and a touchdown. 3 punts for 125 yards averaging 41.7 per kick 1 inside the ten. All purpose yards: 330.

Most teams don't play a schedule that should demand a high national ranking with an undefeated season. Trinity is this year.

Its a good thing Ryle got better or SK may have beaten them.

Obviously you have attended Ryle practices, workouts, and the scrimmage to see where Ryle's potential lies as a football team this season. I am just curious to know your experience with Ryle's program so we can accurately assess your judgement.

Ryle has been doing it for nine years.

Truth be told, that is fantasy. I did watch the cards play last year and there was no place on the field where the cards had Ryle outmatched. Mayfield's biggest advantage against most of their opponents, speed, did not exist against Ryle. Let alone the complete difference in physicality up front. There was one team in the state better than Ryle last year, and only a couple as good, and none of those schools were named Mayfield. Please play some competition to back up such a statement.

That is my point, I feel like those rankings are incorrect. Of course, without head to head competition with the schools that I have in mind, we will never know. After watching them play last year I was sure that we played three teams better than them in NKY, with the possibility of five that could have beaten them. I just think our rankings are very skewed towards excellent small teams that destroy everyone in their area. There is NO DOUBT they were a good football team. I just think they were ranked too high.

My team is Ryle, and they will do well this year. I have already apologized for not seeing it was the victory formation, and if you read my follow up post, I am not disgruntled towards Mayfield. I don't think they were one of the ten best teams in the state last year.
