  1. He told the association to make it even he won't accept the scholarship for one of his players. Every school gets a scholarship for a player, but his won't. However, that won't make up for the size of that gate to the fund. He dedicated that money to the fund, and now he is going back on that promise.
  2. I still find it very amusing that people are critiquing Warner for going back on his word over this game when their head coach has gone back on his word for a scholarship program. The hypocrasy is endless. Warner is doing what he thinks is best for his program. I am sure the game will continue in the future.
  3. There was no contract signed. Dale Mueller is the AD at Highlands, why wasn't there a contract signed? Untill a contract is signed, teams can change their minds and do all the time. However, it is very rare that anyone has tried to keep their Potter money. As a matter of FACT, it has never happened.
  4. And you would be a real idiot to fire one of the most successful coaches in our area for the last decade? How many schools who have no tuition or out of district ability in their enrollment can say they have had a winning record for the last decade, including two twelve win seasons and an appearance in a state finals. You folks simply don't like him because of his charming personality. However, he has been successful.
  5. What do you call someone who promises a gate to a scholarship fund and goes to a meeting and tells the association that he is keeping the money? I don't think I have to worry when I am talking about the truth. I didn't say criminal because he is not keeping the money for his own use, but I don't mind calling him someone who goes back on his word. Prior to the Tom Potter, no one charged for scrimmages. He promoted it as the Tom Potter and promised the money to the association. What exactly do you call not following through?
  6. Then your dad wouldn't respect Dale Mueller very much. He just walked into the last coaches' meeting in NKY and told the association, after he had promised the gate and promoted the scrimmage between them and Trinity as the Tom Potter classic, that he was keeping the money from the scrimmage because his gate was down due to lack of NKY scheduling. Maybe that is the reason Coach Warner chose to end the game. He might not enjoy being associated with people who take money from a scholarship fund. Who knows? Of course, his claim was that nobody from NKY played him out of district. Now, unlike at the time of the meeting, he will be correct. Ryle has played Highlands six times the last four years on both the varsity and JV levels. Of course, this doesn't change the fact that he is going back on HIS word and keeping money from a scholarship fund.
  7. I am not sure I believe this anymore. I would totally be for a simple national test requirement for voting registry. I am really tired of the extremely uneducated being able to decide the leaders of my country. We provide an education to everyone. Therefore, it is not a race or socio-economic issue. It is simply an issue of who takes advantage of the opportunity provided to them. I would be 100% for this.
  8. Then if we are talking about the original party, we need to go back to the 60's and 70's. Either way, I don't see peace as being one of their cornerstones.
  9. Does standing outside of a polling place in the last election with their arms crossed holding clubs indicate peace, or intimidation?
  10. I would think expultion from the team would go without saying, plus a suspension from school.
  11. Are you saying that leadership has nothing to do with economic conditions?
  12. Right, but now the choice is going the opposite direction, which is a good thing.
  13. They might need to adjust to something that doesn't kill people for their income, especially since the population is finally wising up to that fact. There have been many generations of people in this country and around the world that have had to adjust out of their families previous methods of income, to one that is more modern and competitive.
  14. Why??? They are competitive in the market, their employees are making a good living, and their jobs aren't disappearing. I still don't see how an employee expects to have the things I mentioned above. They should expect to compete for their position, and their wage.
  15. I think tobacco is being killed by a lack of consumer consumption. If it is the choice of people to use tobacco, then the death of the industry is the indicator of their choice. People have not been mandated to quit smoking or chewing, they have just started to choose not to. I am in support of not allowing advertisement of the product, and very plain warnings of its health risk.
  16. Yes you could. However, why would you complain when the population wises up enough to quit buying something that is killing them. Of course, I am pretty sure you will never have anything to worry about with alcohol. Devilman makes it sound like it is very unfortunate that the tobacco industry is disappearing.
  17. Are you saying people shouldn't blame tobacco for health problems? Tobacco clearly causes health problems, and thankfully, people in this country are lowering their use of it. It serves no useful purpose. Therefore, as long as our population wises up, its consumption will eventually be reduced to little of nothing. Think about it. If your local economy is based off of tobacco, it is based off of a harmful drug.
  18. They pay a lower wage, they don't have the protection steps in place for employees violating company policy, and they don't have the monster pension payment to deal with.
  19. Toyota does not pay the same amount as the UAW. The UAW also has a tremendous amount of employees collecting huge pensions that are going to continue to do so until they die. I agree on the overhead aspect for certain. Does Toyota have a unionized lack of worker accountability. It took the UAW years to get the big three in the contract situation that they are in. What positive purpose does a union serve in situations like this? They certainly don't encourage labor competition. They certainly don't help a company maximize profit or product quality. They do maximize employee wages and benefits, often to the point of making it cheaper for the company to send the jobs out of country.
  20. I have a very good friend that works for Ford that has bragged to me about this. Of course, he would be bragging about at his house playing poker while he was still on the clock. This is one of the reasons that I was sick as a tax payer during the auto bailout. Although I knew it was necessary for our overall economy, I also knew many UAW employees would be getting what they had asked for if the big three went under. I know that you are a Union man, but that is my problem with Unions. They eliminate some of the employee competition within production sites. IMO, a poor employee doesn't deserve protection, and a good employee doesn't need any.
  21. This is not the case for Unions like the UAW, which are the poster children for pricing jobs out of the country. The union has made it so the weakest, least healthy person must be able to do every job in the plant. Everyone must make the same base wage in the plant, which is $31.50 per hour. You can't get fired for being away from your post while on the clock until the 5th time you are caught. Each job has to be broken down to where it takes no skill to complete so it can fit the criteria mentioned above. How can anyone expect auto plants not to be opened across the border under these conditions. BTW, I think 60-70 is a good level for a line worker to retire at, but to start that high still seems excessive for the education level required. I also think out idea of a living wage is different. I think a living wage is one where you can afford a house and other items considered necessary in our country. However, combined incomes of over six figures is far and away upper middle class. Every worker in our country is simply not going to have those means. Companies can't stay competitive in a world economy providing that type of compensation. Like you said earlier, not everyone can be a mechanic. Not everyone can make that type of salary. The UAW seems to think differently. Of course, they don't believe the stockholders should keep the profit.
