What do you think Simon Kenton has done to make Ryle shake in their boots?

Excellent game by Jude. With that being said, Covington Catholic gave up 611 yards rushing to Ryle this year. Their run defense is not their strength.

O.K. 2004 was the year that Dixie beat Trinity and lost to Boone. Highlands might have been able to beat X in 2004, but that was the most simple offensive scheme that I have ever seen Mueller run.

Did Highlands lose to Dixie around that time? Wasn't that the jet sweep Mitchell team that played tight defense and didn't score very many points?

Now your going a little far. Highlands had some years this past decade that were pretty down Highlands teams. As I recall, didn't they have a season that was ended with a running clock. I would agree with the H comment, but the only teams from Highlands that you could make a legitimate argument for being as good as the largest level champion would be 2000 and 2009, neither of which I am pretty sure were T championships.

D1 offers and wins. Not to mention, arm strength and speed.

The area I am talking about is the top three, which is classically Trinity, St. X, and Highlands.

I know you play football in Boyle County. I just don't think you are a top three team. You need to play some competition ranked in that area before you should be considered. Although, I must applaud Boyle's coaching staff for scheduling up next season. The only reason you have the state's longest winning streak is due to Ryle breaking one that had that position two weeks ago.

I certainly agree that there are bad 6a schools that will lose to good 2a schools, aka Newcath and Beechwood have accomplished it many times. However, it is very rare that a top tier team in 5a or 6a will lose to a top tier team in 1a and 2a.

Like I said, I agree with JH. I don't think Bell would beat Highlands, Ryle, or Ballard. I bought out the champion vs. champion because at the top of the classes, school size often makes a difference. I think the three teams that I just mentioned would beat Bell because of greater team speed. Highlands and Ryle are both fast at multiple positions, and both have powerful offensive lines. Also, I still don't understand why many people from that area of the state seem to think that Highlands is a private school.

I know that they have power and a fast tailback. I don't think they have the speed at every postition that some of the schools I have mentioned do. What school have we talked about that is private. Highlands, Ryle, Ballard, and Hardin are all public schools. When is the last time you have seen a highest class champion beaten by a lower class champion? The last time I remember it was Highlands beatin Male in 98.

No they are not. They are a public independent.

I also think that Bell wins 4a this year. However, that doesn't lead them to being better than a 5a and a 6a school that have one another as their only losses. I am also not sure how a Bell would match up against Ballard's speed and spread offense. One thing is for sure, we will never know. I do however think that Bell should have taken the opportunity to play Highlands the next two years. Isn't having tough competition in regular season what prepares you for tough playoff games?

I didn't say their schedule was laughable. I just said that they should be playing more high ranked teams as a program of their caliber.

Are you going to argue that Boyle or Bell has played as tough of a schedule as Ryle or Highlands?

Boyle will be seen. However, it will be tough to put anything else to the test since they didn't have any out of class state powers on their schedule during regular season. It is dissapointing to hear that Hilton refused to schedule Highlands the next two years.

I agree that Bell is likely better than John Hardin and possibly Boyle. I wouldn't be so sure when it comes to Simon or Ballard. How many high powered passing attacks has Bell faced this season?

I didn't say they wouldn't be competative, I said that it is riduculous based on a couple factors that Boyle or Bell should be ranked ahead of Highland's or Ryle. Those factors are strength of schedule and less than impressive wins over some weaker opponents. Do you really believe that Boyle wasn't a better team last year?

You can go by competition. Not comparing scores on a running clock is entirely different than having a team like that stay with you. I would also say this, Boyle and Bell haven't played good enough competition to judge how good they are. Of course, Boyle is going to change that next year.
