Phillies won more games than the Dodgers and also have a loaded roster. Not to mention we haven’t even factored in Ohtani’s pitching. I personally like Schwarber better, but Ohtani should be MVP and it shouldn’t be close.

Beechwood 8th grade team beat Twenhofel last night 22-19. Beechwood 6/7th grade team drops to 0-6. Twenhofel broke a long run on their first possession for a TD. They started the second half with a no huddle look and ran the ball down the field for their second score. Beechwood mounted a comeback with a consistent running attack capped off by a TD pass. Final score was 13-6. Regardless of their record, BW has made strides and has grown all year. Spirits and morale are still high and they keep putting in work. They seem to give up a big play or two every week and can’t over come it. Last night, penalties were a killer. They finish the season next week versus Summit View.

6/7th grade Tigers got beat by Cov Cath tonight 21-7. Game was competitive and probably the best effort BW has put out there all season.

Baseball that matters in late September! Skeenes vs Greene. Expecting 20-k combined night. True pitchers dual. Can’t wait to watch.

Coming off the bye week the 6/7th grade Beechwood Tigers faced St. Henry. BW drops to 0-4 losing by the score of 24-6. The defense continues to give up plays off the edge. St Henry WRs were also able to get past the DBs for a couple of long completions. The BW line played very well on both sides of the ball. They established the run the best they have all season. Unfortunately the lack of big plays means there is no margin for error on the offense. It has not been the most successful season on the score board but the kids remain positive. They appear to still be in good spirits and working hard.

Does anyone have an update on the Lair injury? He is an outstanding high school kicker. It’s not often that a kicker in high school can be considered a weapon, with his long kick offs helping the team with field position and long/accurate FGs helping the team with play calls as they approach the red zone. I believe he is talented enough to play at the next level. Does anyone know if he intends to kick in college?

Running clock. This result isn’t about coaching. It’s about the talent. Lombardi couldn’t have prevented this result. At all levels on both sides of the ball BW is better. Harris is the only kid that would play for BW and he would have to share touches. Again, just my opinion from what I have seen tonight — take it for what it’s worth. Final score will look like the offense was unstoppable, but this game was about the line play by BW on both sides of the ball and the defense — domination.

First big offensive play of the night. I believe about 35-yd pass. Queen to Fryman. 38-6. BW. 540 left in the 3rd.

Okay. Need some help. Two young boys (10-ish) sitting next to me. Both struggling to open their candy bars. I don’t know them and they don’t know me. They both very politely asked if I would open the candy bars. Which I did. The question is, do they not owe me 1/4 of the crunch bar and Kit Kat? Does anyone know the proper candy bar opening tax rate?

BW defense makes another big play. Creating a turnover and returning it inside the 30.

Seniors for cross country and golf were recognized at the half. Personally disappointed that the band got cut from performing since time ran out.

Two red zone drives for SK end in no points. BW has not hit on any huge plays on offense and still in complete control.
