Seeing a reported Risner deal out there for 1-year at $5M. Love this move by the Bengals and like that it didn’t drag out the entire off season.

Yes. Society in general doesn’t like teams that win too much. Or should I say dynasty programs. Be honest, how many of you liked the Brady Patriots? The current Dodgers? I think around the state (and country) people get upset when the same teams win over and over and over at any level or sport. For what it’s worth I have child that performs with high school marching band that has won 12 state titles. A great program and tradition that requires students to put in countless hours of practice on their craft. However, every 3-5 years the KMEA is always tweaking the class formula which specifically targets the highest performing programs. Which almost comes across as a slap in the face of the kids talent and hard work. Society talks a lot about being great, but the truth is society doesn’t want anyone or team to be too great.

How is this group selected? Are there term limits? Seems like Tackett has a lifetime appointment — like a king or something. I want to be clear he needs to go. New leadership is needed at the top.

NFL playoffs this weekend were outstanding. All games were competitive in the 4th quarter. Several games came down to the last possession. I really appreciated great games since I didn’t have a specific team to root for.

I have no faith in the organization building a Super Bowl winning team. But, I see no reason why this team can’t compete for a playoff spot. A healthy Burrow and a slightly improved defense will have them competitive. Personally, that isn’t good enough for me. I am no longer FANatical for this team but I will always be a fan. I used to have season tickets and even when I didn’t I would go over to a couple of games. Bengals used to be appointment viewing but now if something else comes up I don’t worry about missing the game. I used to buy a couple hundred dollars in new gear every fall but this year I just saved the money. They will always be my team. I hope they build a monster that leads to years of domination. However, based on the history of the franchise we can expect 2-3 ‘good’ years for every ten. If they want me to be FANatical again, they have to do more.

Haworth teams seem to usually be deep. They always force tempo and defend. I love his style of play.

Any idea how the state will respond/punish Mays for this most recent activity? Secondly, does anyone know if the kHSAA has ever held a school accountable (by punishing) for this type activity?

Listened on the radio and he was outstanding. He made every play he was asked to make. His line was great, which helped. The play calling late took the ball out of his hands, which was almost disastrous. I am not sure of his measurables but he is mobile with a big arm. O-Cath had several great individual efforts last night, as did B-Wood, but for me Carothers was MVP.
