The last time the Lady Camels beat the Lady 'Stangs in post season fast pitch softball was on May 25, 2005 in a 12-11 8 inning barn burner when they played in the 36th District and current Bishop Brossart pitcher Karlie Shackelford was 7 years old. A remarkable streak. Even though the 2014 tourney took 25 hours to finish the result was a 5-3 Bishop Brossart victory and their 17th straight win over their crosstown rival. This will be Brossart's 24th consecutive trip to the Regional Tournament. The draw will be Saturday at 9:30 AM in beautiful Cynthiana, Ky. The Lady 'Stangs made it exciting last night when following two Lady Camel first inning hits they committed 3 errors to allow Campbell to take a 3-0 lead. Following that the 'Stangs played a strong defensive game and pitcher Shackelford only allowed 3 singles the final six innings. Trailing 3-2 in the 4th, sophomore shortstop Amanda Graus singled home pinch runner freshman Macy Griffin to tie it 3-3. In the fifth Riley Orth walked and Campbell misplayed a great Shannon Kremer bunt to put runners at second and third before senior thirdsacker Allie Anstead lined a shot just inside the bag at first to plate Kremer and Orth and make it 5-3 before lightning stopped play til tonight. After the leadoff batter reached on an error in the 7th tonight the Lady 'Stangs shutdown the Lady Camels 1-2-3 for the win. Kremer and Campbell's Danielle Oreck each had two hits. Anstead, Kremer and Shackelford were named all-tournament for Bishop Brossart who is now 21-15 while Campbell Co. falls to 11-14:clap:

Our buddy Jimmy Sanders wnats to invite everyone to the Carver Memorial Tournament June 21 and 22 in Maysville at 3 different locations. The Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs continued to play outstanding softball winning a big road game dominating Dixie Heights 6-0 in Crestview Hills. The two teams locked a scoreless battle for four innings til they used some timely hitting and a triple by Senior Shannon Kremer to take a 2-0 advantage in the fifth. They came right back in the 6th with doubles by Kremer and a bases clearing double by Senior Allie Anstead to score four more. They outhit Dixie 10 to 5 and played errorless softball in improving their season record to 17-11. Dixie falls to 8-8. Junior Pitcher Karlie Shackelford meanwhile kept Dixie off stride striking out 6 walking none while scattering 5 hits for her 16th win. Kremer and Anstead knocked in all 6 runs with three apiece. Kremer, Jordyn Boesch and Katlyn Seiter (Who also had a triple) each had two hits. The Lady 'Stangs will take on Region Foe Bourbon County (16-11) tomorrow at home at 6 PM

It wasn't the prettiest of games but the Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs held off a late Cooper rally to win again 7-5 in Union. The 'Stangs and Jaguars battled to a 0-0 tie for three innings before they exploded for all 7 runs in the fourth. They banged out 13 hits to just 6 for Cooper. The big hit in the fourth a monster home run over the platform in rightcenter by pitcher Karlie Shackelford. Amanda Lloyd had a three hit game for Brossart while Amanda Graus, Jaimie Reis, Jordyn Boesch and Schack all had 2 hits each. The win raised the 'Stangs win streak to four straight with wins over Powell Co. 12-2, Lloyd 18-2, NCC 7-2 and now Cooper 7-5. Brossart is now 16-11 while Cooper falls to 3-8. The junior varsity won 10-1 in a game stopped by "perceived" darkness. :ylsuper:

Gosh I hate to give away 2 runs but Lawnboy is correct it was 7-2. I might add the Lady 'Stangs had some opportunities to score many more though leaving a season high 9 runners on base .. 7 of them on second and third.

We just tell everyone you WILL NOT miss a practice or game once we start practice and cuts are made. Then they can make their choices

Lady 'Stangs get a win at the Powell County Fast Pitch Invitational as Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs run rule host Powell County 12-2 in five innings. Junior Pitcher Karlie Shackelford completed the tournament allowing ZERO Earned runs. In the Powell County game Allie Anstead, Amanda Graus, Shannon Kremer all reached base three times. Kremer, Anstead and Shackelford all had three rbis and Jaimie Reis had two hits in the win. In two losses this weekend by 1-0 scores they fell to 8th Grade Phenom Montana Fouts rated the Top 8th Grade Pitcher in the USA and Menifee County's Erika Brewer, an NKU Division I Signee. East Carter wins the tourney beating George Rogers Clark 9-0. :clap:

The Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart continued their domination of the Campbell County Lady Camels 6-3 at Campbell Co. on Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Tonight. A huge bases loaded double by senior third baseman Allie Anstead drove home three runs in a 5 run fifth inning to power Brossart to their 11th win. The Camels fall to 6-7. The win gives Brossart a perfect 4-0 District record and the top seed in the 37th District at Scott. Senior Shannon Kremer had two hits. Jordyn Boesch had two rbis. The win was Brossart's 16th straight over the Lady Camels and are now 31-8 career wise. The JV team beat the Lady Camels 3-0 as Megan Seiter tossed a shutout. The two freshmen teams battled to a 6-6 tie.:ylsuper:

Thru all the crazy spring weather, rain, snow sleet the one thing we hadn't witnessed so far was thunder and lightning. Bishop Brossart junior pitcher Karlie Shackelford provided that against Mason County Friday night in the Pete Noll Invitational at Softball City. The game was close for most of the contest. Brossart struck first. Secondbaseman Ashley Childress opened the game with a single and following a sacrifice by Shannon Kremer eventually scored on a groundout to short by Allie Anstead. The game remained 1-0 til the 6th when Kremer doubled and then Shackelford unloaded a 230 foot bomb to straight away center to make it 3-0 Lady 'Stangs. Mason County came right back when Ross and Conrad singled and then Roberson drilled a two rbi double to leftcenter.Roberson then scored on a wild pitch. The Lady 'Stangs started things in the top of the 7th when Jaimie Reis reached on a error off the pitchers glove and Riley Orth and Ashley Childress walked. Kremer drilled the first pitch to right for two runs and a 5-3 lead. Allie Anstead walked and up came Shackelford. Shack unloaded a towering blast :clap:to left that landed about 30 feet over the portable fence and ended up at the base of the 300 ft fence at softball city. They retired Mason Co. in order in the 7th to secure a 9-3 win. Shackelford on the night two homeruns and 6 rbis while allowing just 6 hits over 7 innings of pitching with 5 strikeouts. Krmer and Childress each had two hits for the now 5-3 Lady 'Stangs.

We are playing much better ... feel much better after seeing poll that all 3 of our losses have come to Top 20 Teams. Ballard is a definite State Contender

Junior Pitcher Karlie Shackelford Went 3 for 4 with 3 rbis including a walkoff double as Bishop Brossart run ruled Holy Cross 11-1 in five innings. She also pitched a two hitter with five strikeouts. The Lady 'Stangs enjoyed a 6 run first inning to spark the win. Senior Jaimie Reis had two hits while Katlyn Seiter and Amanda Graus each had 2 rbis in their 3rd win. The 2014 fast pitch season officially started on a cold Monday afternoon on St. Patrick's Day for the Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart as they opened the regular season with 16-0 Varsity and 18-2 JV wins on the road in Dayton, Kentucky. Senior thirdbaseman Allie Anstead led a 15 hit Brossart attack with 4 hits and a walk. Junior righthander Karlie Shackelford tossed a three hit shutout on the mound with four strikeouts. The game started slowly but the Lady 'Stangs put together back to back innings scoring 9 and 7 runs. Sophomore Katelyn Seiter walked and then junior Jordyn Boesch lined a sharp single to left to open the 9 run inning. The next four batters senior Jaimie Reis, sophomore Riley Orth, sophomore Amanda Graus and senior Shannon Kremer walked before Allie Anstead lined a two rbi single to left. Shackelford hit the gap for a two run double and then sophomore Amanda Lloyd followed with a two run triple to leftcenter. When Boesch delivered her second single of the inning to plate Lloyd it was 9-0. The BBHS defense was perfect. Anstead finished with 4 rbis. Amanda Graus went 3 for 4 with two runs scored 2 rbis and a walk. Kremer recorded 3 hits, Shackelford, Lloyd and Boesch all had 2 rbis. Freshman Megan Seiter, playing in her first varsity game had a pinch hit 2 run single in the 5th. Brossart outhit Dayton 15 to 3. The junior varsity beat the Lady Greendevils 18-2 with all runs being scored in the first inning before the game was called for darkness. Sophomore Emily Schoulties got the win. The Lady 'Stangs will next battle Simon Kenton on Wednesday.:thumb:
