Bunt turns into an inside the park home run

Featured Replies

I seen on twitter just a few minutes ago that a 7th grader that plays for North Laurel, laid down a bunt and it turned into an inside the park home run.

How does this happen?

I'd say two base error at a minimum. I've seen a legit bunt double in softball but can't possibly fathom a bunt home run.

Bunt double? Trying to picture that. Did they let it roll hoping it would go foul?

Runner at second, both corners charged, SS went to cover third, second baseman went to cover first, ball was bunted hard past/between pitcher and first baseman, runner never slowed down rounding first as no one was covering 2B.

Rookie score keeper.

team in the field isn't worth a _____ ? or its a 10u game ? Or more probable it got tossed down the RF line and was really an error .

Don't blame this one on me Lawnboy :isurrender:

Happened in my daughter's game a few weeks ago. Runner at 3rd. One out. Bunt laid down perfectly and she would have been safe but the throw was well over the head of the 1B. RF misplayed the backup and it went all the way to the RF corner. Bunter scored and we won the game 8-7. It was a 3 Base Error in my book. Just a bad mistake at a bad time.
