Bishop Brossart 6 Dixie Heights 0

Featured Replies

The Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs continued to play outstanding softball winning a big road game dominating Dixie Heights 6-0 in Crestview Hills. The two teams locked a scoreless battle for four innings til they used some timely hitting and a triple by Senior Shannon Kremer to take a 2-0 advantage in the fifth. They came right back in the 6th with doubles by Kremer and a bases clearing double by Senior Allie Anstead to score four more. They outhit Dixie 10 to 5 and played errorless softball in improving their season record to 17-11. Dixie falls to 8-8. Junior Pitcher Karlie Shackelford meanwhile kept Dixie off stride striking out 6 walking none while scattering 5 hits for her 16th win. Kremer and Anstead knocked in all 6 runs with three apiece. Kremer, Jordyn Boesch and Katlyn Seiter (Who also had a triple) each had two hits. The Lady 'Stangs will take on Region Foe Bourbon County (16-11) tomorrow at home at 6 PM

How has Dixie only played 16 games?

Not sure, I was wondering the same thing when I was looking at their record. The Lady Stangs are playing some good ball and let's hope that carries them over into District and Regionals:thumb:

Tomorrow a good test for Brossart with Bourbon coming in.

Got to love the Brossart fan that taunted the Dixie girl that struck out to end the game. Screaming "your out of here" as she struck out to end the game. Not sure which was worse though, because all of the other Brossart fans laughed at him like he was funny.

That's our entertainer! He is like that every game, doesn't mean anything by it. He keeps everyone awake on our side, you never know what he is going to do or say:popcorn:

So that makes it okay. Why would anyone with ANY class say that to a high school kid that just struck out to end a game? I'm sorry, but that really urks me and as a coach, I'm not sure I would hold back if I heard that said to one of my players. I'm there to protect them and they do not need to hear that from an opposing parent. I obviously wasn't there and have no idea how blatent it was, but I wouldn't tolerate it if I heard it.

I would do the same to my parents if I heard it from our crowd.

Believe me he meant nothing by it. He never downs any kid out there, he just gets very excited! He is a hoot to be around, but very much cares about the kids.

This is NOT ok and a direct violation of the sportsmanship expectations. Taunting should not be tolerated by anyone, including fans. If the other parents are not addressing that behavior, then shame on them too. It is classless and regardless of how it may be perceived amongst the parents, excitable or not, it's not ok and reflects poorly on BBHS.

Umpires have the ability to address that behavior as long as they are on the field and in this case, even if it ended the game, the fan can be ejected, which will require a report on the ejection and likely get the fan suspended from seeing future games.

Is he a special needs person or a parent of a player?

Cares about the kids...the Brossart kids? Because no adult that "cares about all kids" would even think about letting that come out of his mouth. Is this a case of him needing attention and he tries to express that in humor? Because that may be funny to some, but I'm sure it wasn't funny to that high school girl. And how far does he go next time? Again, I wasn't there. But it's kinda comical that anyone would defend an action like this. It may be funny to him and the other parents, but I can tell you that if it was said to my daughter as described, that would be the end of his "fun". This is one area I have zero tolerance for. Heckle me all you want, leave the kids alone. It's actually pitiful and the more I type the more PO'd I get.
