Sandman, let's remember that a persons perception is their reality. Doesn't mean that is what actually occurred just what they believe to be true. It's like getting eyewitness accounts of a car wreck, bank robbery etc....ask three people and you are going to get three versions of the "truth" of what actually happened. The "reality" is ingrained even more when there is bias present in a persons view of events. If an official cursed a player has anyone else corroborated this "fact"? I've been to many high school games and unless yelling out a play or celebrating I've never been able to hear a conversation taking place on the court. I'm assuming RE is a player or possibly a coach who is close enough to hear court conversation?

You say this because you are qualified to make the determination on whether someone is great, good, decent, or bad official?

Saw on Rivals.com that Stauffer played 18 min in ODU's opener. He had 2 points off free throws and grabbed 5 rebounds. BTW, Mikey Gabbard from Boone had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for Erskine College the other night as well.

This was two to three years ago. I would have to agree with Qryche and NKY Bandit here. Christian is a nice role player. Obviously any ranking system is just someone's opinion. These kids are still young and I think alot of the rankings are just name recognition. Once your name is out in middle school or as a freshman it tends to stay "on the board". Are they continually improving? Physical maturity has a lot to do with this process. I've seen kids that are physically able to dominate at the middle school level based solely on being bigger and stronger and people start talking about what a stud they are going to be on the high school level and it just doesn't happen. Trust me, there are a lot of kids in this class that are never mentioned that can play with anyone ranked at the moment and may even deserve to be ranked themselves. The problem is we come on here and annoint kids as future top 5 and they have yet to see significant playing time at the varsity level for whatever reason AND some don't even start for their AAU teams!

The place to be this past weekend and where it was all happening was Hoopsfest at the Expo center. Look no farther than the number of coaches that make it a can't miss event.

I'm amazed at the number of parents that come on here and throw their kids name out in "3rd person" like they aren't the parent of the kid. They make sure they are listed in the stat lines or when asked about who are the best players in the region etc. so that then people can come on and hype them.

You also had some really good officials working Saturday based on their work during the week according to people more knowledgable than many who post on here. The college officials, college assigners, and evaluators determine who is capable of officiating on Saturday.

Congrats to James for being evaluated all week and being voted to be the referee in tonight's championship game. Also to Marla Gearhart and Scott Bottoms who were chosen as well for tonight's championship. Interestingly enough James was the referee in the first game to open the tournament and tonight will toss as well to close out and decide the 2010 state champion! :thumb:

For the entire state or NKY? In NKY I go with Mays from Ryle.

Looked to me it was their point guard Mays who is #10. Big three toward the end of game to pull them within 2. I do think the boys get tired because as you've said they aren't very deep.

So as an official it is your opinion your fellow officials don't do a good job? :confused:

Who is everyone? I've seen many games at SOAS and think they do a great job because I know the game. Most people are uneducated about the rules. They believe they know but really don't. Also the officials aren't from SOAS since SOAS doesn't send officials out. They may referee there but I would imagine they are aligned with an association.

Brown did transfer which will hurt. Pavey and Morgan havne't set foot on the court yet due to football so they will be a little behind. I honestly think they go as Mays goes this year.

I think these are their 3 best players but I would go Mcleish, Stauffer, Coleman.

What two players are better? :confused:
