You obviously don't know Coach Lucas. He will welcome the challenge of the most difficult schedule in the State of Kentucky. * St. X * Trinity * Highlands * Male * Cincy Colerain Doesn't mean they'll win them all, just isn't something they'll cower from!

Anyone know the status of Bryan Station's Head Coach search?

I wouldn't be surprised if Manual were to supplant Male as a member of the Big 3 in the very near future.

Do tell? Also, is it possible that you weren't your wife's first choice?

Thankfully, BigCatDaddy and Some guy are done with their ranting. As a matter of fact, he just may lead the Crimson into Highlands and break their 28 game winning streak in the opener next year! Afterall, his 2008 Bryan Station team gave them their closest in-state game in the last 3 years.

Actually, Bryan Station has a lot of talent coming back. They also had an undefeated freshmen team this year. Sometimes in life you find you just have to make a change. If Oliver Lucas is indeed the new Coach at Manual, he will do an outstanding job.

Dunbar really hasn't had as much success as people like to believe. Hopefully they will make a good hire and the new coach can build this program into the one that it could/should be. Dr. Oliver Lucas is an excellent coach. He was a head high school coach in California prior to taking an assistant position at the University of Colorado under Bill McCartney. Eventually returned to the high schools ranks in Denver. He came to Lexington in 2006 as his wife is a Kentucky native. Did an outstanding job of turning around a down Bryan Station program. Whoever retains his services will be fortunate to get him.

Bryan Station (6-5) vs. Conner (6-3) I'm looking for a Bryan Station victory in the neighborhood of 60-50.

What school are you with?

Bryan Station is down this season but should roll in this game. The Defenders and Newport will battle for 2nd in this tournament behind Holmes.

Has anyone heard anything about who may be in the running at: Dunbar, Bryan Station, Manual & Madison Central? Also, anyword on a change at Male?

Congrats to the Bryan Station Defenders who made the All-State Teams! Darrian Miller - 2nd team OL Chaz Mitchell - HM Wide Receiver Kris Bolton - HM Linebacker However, how does Tevin McCaden not make even Honorable Mention? Over 2,000 yards through the 1st nine games of the season while playing a strong 6A schedule!

No one is claiming that they're not a good program. Just not a top 25 national program. Your argument about classifications holds no weight. National rankings are not based on classifications. If you want to be ranked among the big boys, play the big boys. Beating Cinci St. X 12-7 does not qualify you for a top 25 ranking. There are probably 10 teams alone in Ohio who would beat Highlands (Cardinal Mooney, Davidson, Glenville, Elder, St. Ignatious, Moeller, Middletown, Colerain, Massillon etc...) Again, not a knock on Highlands. I have all the respect for the Highlands program and players/coaches. They're just not among the the top 25 teams in the country. I could name 10-20 schools in Texas, California & Florida as well but you probably wouldn't recognize the names as much as the Ohio schools.

Highlands if a very strong program in the State of Kentucky. Excellent coaching and tradition. However, they are no where near a top 25 program in the country. I've been fortunate to see programs in Texas, California, Florida and Georgia. Trinity, St. X and Highlands would stand no chance against the best teams in these states!

You have to understand the history of student-athlete movement in Lexington. Also, if you're from Lexington, you know about the basketball team at Bryan Station M.S. in 2007-08. Jalyn Beckham was an 8th grader and Larry Morton was a 7th grader and they dominated everyone in the city. Jalyn Beckham curiously ends up at Lexington Catholic last year and Larry Morton goes to Beaumont M.S. but everyone knew that he hadn't had a change in residence. Why the administration at Dunbar and at the Central Office waited a year to act is a mystery? maybe had this father at Dunbar not brought it to light, the vast majority may have never found out. Now, it appears, this drama prompted Morton's move to Catholic. A cynical person could say that Catholic has just figured out how to play "the game" better then those in FCPS!
