We could only be so lucky! This guy spends too much time worried about preventing FCPS student-athletes from participating against Lexington Catholic. Needs to get his own house in order!

In addition to the Head Coach, why aren't the AD at Dunbar and the District AD not being held accountable for this? They were all aware of this prior to the start of the 08-09 basketball season!

Talent, facilities, et al mean nothing when the administration you work under is incompetent beyond measure! Dr. Oliver Lucas is far to professional to express this but anyone in the know has already figured this out. Nothing but the best to Coach Lucas as he continues to bless his students with his teaching, coaching and leadership abilities. We all know he loves the students of Bryan Station!

The Bryan Station Lady Defenders (1-0) pick up their 1st win of the season at Lafayette. ■ Alesha Prince had 15 points and seven rebounds to help Bryan Station to a 57-48 victory at Lafayette. The Lady Defenders held Lafayette to 29.6 percent from the field and outrebounded the Lady Generals 43-26. Serena Sandusky chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and three blocks for Station. Ali Ross led Lafayette with 14 points. Bryan Station was ranked anywhere from 7th-9th in the 11th Region pre-season rankings. (Scott Co., Madison Central, Franklin Co., Dunbar, Lafayette, Lex. Christian, Lex. Catholic, Tates Creek) Look for this team to be in the mix at the end!

I've heard that McKee is pursuing the Dunbar job as well.

Bryan Station has averaged 24 wins a season over the last 5 years. While they have suffered some personnel losses, (several to other Lex. schools), Champ Ligon has established a very consistent program and I wouldn't underestimate their ability to compete against the best in the 11th.

Tough loss for Bryan Station. Sounds like they played their hearts out. Could have used a healthy Tevin McCaden but at this time of year most teams have players that are nicked up. He was averaging 223 yeards a game through 9 games and did not play the last regular season game or the 1st round playoff game. Obviously not healthy, he only had 22 yeards on 9 carries last night. Outstanding rebuilding job by Head Coach Dr. Oliver Lucas. 2009: 9-3 2008: 6-5 2007: 4-7 2006: 2-8 The 5 years prior to his arrival the Defenders never won more than 2 games in a season. (1-9, 1-9, 2-8, 2-8, 1-8)

By playing up 2 classes they were able to avoid Boyle County, Bell County, Lexington Catholic. The top of 4A is stronger than the top of 5A. It was a calculated decision.

That was a very talented team at Bryan Station Middle School in 2007-08! Jaylen Beckham was in 8th grade and Larry Morton 7th. It sounds like Larry Morton, after a stop at Dunbar, has joined Beckham at Catholic this year?

Congratulations to the Bryan Station High School freshmen football team on finishing an undefeated season (8-0) with a 62-8 victory over Tates Creek last Monday, Oct. 26!

He played at Bryan Station Middle School as a 7th grader. As an 8th grader, last year, he played at Dunbar High School. I couldn't even tell you where he's going this year.

Dunbar (2-7). which is a #4 seed in 6A district 7, will play at GRC (6-3), which is a #1 seed in 6A district 8. This is a rematch of a regular season game in which Dunbar won 13-7.
