I believe that the chance of UK beating St. Johns is the same or better than St. Johns beating UK. Would probably be a 3 point game or less.

I think this is great news for NKU and the entire area.

Would put O'Hara and Pouncy on the State Championship game, top notch imo. 9th Region teams and fans will just see a much different style of officiating than they are used to seeing. I believe Pouncy did call the Championship game last year.

So if had finished the current school year out at Holmes and enrolled at Dixie in the fall, then he could not have played?

This is terrible news for the tournament.

Why did he leave Holmes? Why would someone enroll in a new school in Feb?

McQueary would love to keep this game in the thirties or low forties. Can't see him wanting to get in a track meet with Holmes.

Cannot believe Local CBS affliate (WKRC) cut away to the start of the OSU/IU game. Horrible. You should ALWAYS stay with an OT game with two ranked opponents vs. going with a game with an unranked opponent. Hate getting the Cincinnati stations, they have made horrible gaffes in the past. The could have at least gone with a split screen.

I agree here. Just shows how much trust Mullins has in his Sr. leader. Very smart ball player. Other observations; I thought T. Mullins defense on McQueary was outstanding for the better part of the night, although McQueary did get loose for a few threes, Tate was up in his grill for most of the night. It was the same strategy Cooper employed with Bradley guarding him on Wednesday night. I thought the big momentum changer was Stauffer's big dunk that really got him, his team and the fans fired up. Big Stauffer fan for three years. Will miss watching this kid play.

Congrats to Dixie on the District title. Would love to see a Dixie/Ryle region final.

I do appreciate educated unbiased comments from certain people, but most have zero clue about the game and have never played it, coached it or officiated it. Often times, I choose to sit alone so I won't have to listen to all of the "expert opinions".

Let's just say that the "foul" would not have been called. Can anyone honestly say what the outcome would have been? Who would have gotten the rebound on the missed shot? What if a Boone player gets the rebound and gets a stick back? What if Cooper gets the rebound and a Boone player fouls him? What if Cooper misses the free throws? I mean, really........can anyone really know what would have happened? It may have been a bad call, but to say that Cooper would have automatically won if it was not called is just being presumptuous imo.

WOW! What else can you say about the performance that Moss put on tonight. Simply sensational. Would really like to see a rubber match because Crittenden was a non-factor due to foul trouble that kept her out of the game for most of the night. If Boone shoots the 3 like they did tonight, I don't see anyone beating them. Congrats to the 33rd District Champions. Good Luck to both teams in the 9th Region tournament.

Guess we will agree to disagree here SS. I can't recall the last time Conner had a POY candidate, can you? I do agree that when a team struggles, you cannot lay blame exclusive to one area, it's a combination of factors. If I was coaching Conner, I would institute a player grading system that heavily rewards assists. I think the TO/Assist ratio is the key to a winning team. I would require a minimum of 15 assists/game. I would love to see the assist totals for both teams from last night. Good luck to Ryle tomorrow night vs. Boone. Should be a good game.

I think it's time to stop the complaining here and all of the negativity in this thread. Give credit where credit is due. Ryle proved 4 times this year that they are a better team than Conner, it's just that simple. Any given coach is only as good as their talent. Conner's talent just didn't stack up with Ryle's. Why can't everyone just see that? I would be curious to see how many times Conner's class of 2011 has beaten Ryle and Boone going back to middle school. I don't think they have had much success against them, have they? Let's just stop the coach bashing and move on. Just wasn't a good year for the Cougars. I can remember a cycle when Conner was winning their share of 33rd District games, it will cycle back to that in the future.

I can think of both 9th Region state champions that both had huge scares that would have prevented them of even making it to Rupp. SK/WV in 1981 and Holmes/Boone in 2009. Kudos to Cooper and Coach Sullivan and the job he has done in his short stint at Cooper.

Be patient Cat fans...........help is on the way. The Calvary is coming. Let's keep things in perspective, it's only Cal's second season. To hear some, you would think he's been here for 7 years and nothing is happening. I would take Cal over UK's last 5 coaches any day of the week. Like UKMF said earlier in this thread, they are what they are this season, exactly what I thought they would be. Losing 5 guys to the first round of the NBA draft in one season was an aberration, will not be the norm and would have put any coach in a bind. Still sticking with my Elite 8 pick.
