I believe that Dunn had 12 yards in 10 carries against Boyle. McDaniel had 94 yards against Cal. Lets see how that plays out before we make any quick decisions on who is better. Will also had 63 yards in 10 carries against Mercer. McDaniel caught 6 passes against Cal and played really tough on defense, just something else for you to consider, plus he wasn't playing against Taylor County, if you are basing your comparison on that game for what Dunn and Peavler did. By the way, I like Dunn and Peavler but we need to wait till the season is over, then compare stats and the strength of schedule before making any rash statements.

Pulling for Mercer but after watching both these teams play, I have say CAL gets the nod. I feel that the passing game of CAL will hurt the Titans most. On defense, CAL is very good against the run with that middle linebacker who had double digit tackles in their first two games.

Boyle had one of their key secondary defenders out last night and that made a big difference.

Boyle had little trouble with a Mercer team that is much better that it performed on Friday. The offense performed really well after the first series. And the the defense was tough all during the game. Boyle is a very good team, but must now go on the road for three tough games in a row. I am sure Coach Buchanan will get Mercer on the right track. A good first win for Boyle and Coach Haddix looking toward a long and successful career at BC.

I have heard that Caleb Holderman is back. He was a good player as a sophmore.

I think Boyle will dominate in this one 42-7. They have 12 players back that started at some time last year, plus a very good transfer that will probably start at QB. Another player is back that started year before last and missed last year with an injury. Some of those 12 starters also play both ways.

Will McDaniel 6'0" 190 leading rusher for Boyle County last year. A special running back that can catch the ball and a top defender at outside linebacker. One of the top 2-way players in the state.

It was a great Meet and Greet reception for Coach Haddix and his family here last night. All, of the assistant coaches were in attendance. There are at least two vacancies on the staff with the retirements. I think the decisions on what part each assistant fills on his staff will be made after all positions are filled. I think you can be sure that coach Hester will certainly be involved with the defense, with his success and experience there in the past. I know he is in charge of the conditioning that was going on even before Coach Haddix was officially hired. There was a great deal of excitement at the event last night from players, coaches, parents and fans in general. It was very comfortable with all of his family there interacting with everyone in the crowd. I think everyone is very happy with Justin and the job the selection committee did in bringing him here to continue the legacy of Rebel football.

A real steal for Centre. Reed will only improve with time. Look forward to watching him on Saturdays.

Not controversial at all to the people that really matter. A good feeling throughout the Rebel community from fans, players,parents, administration and assistant coaches.

I haven't seen list. I know Brando is number 1 on list. Haddix is in the next 3 and depending on who you talk with who the number 2 choice is. That came from someone on the selection comm. and maybe that was their choice.

Brandon Smith is of course number 1 on the Boyle want list. Haddix is number 2 and then several other good candidates. Hodge is not on the list.

Boyle County just beat Butler County this afternoon 68 to 53. The Rebels led the entire game. Their press just took Butler out of anything they tried on offense.

Sheperson, Zeismer, Logan, Clark, Alexander,Sims,Tiller and Jackson Smith have all shown the ability to be at a level from great to very good receivers. Then add Will McDaniel out of the backfield who has great pass catching ability and is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. I want to have my dual threat weapon like Cole Lanter touching the ball on every play rather than a few times per game at WR. I like Cole Sims and Avery Bodner very much as future QB's, but in my opinion, neither is ready for the starting job and especially not while we have Lanter.

Cole first of all is a winner and a team player. He is an excellent passer who sees the field well and a gifted runner who as we all know creates havoc with any defense. I did talk with him about this last spring and every indication I got from him, was that he planned to play quarterback. This was at a baseball game where we we sitting together. I get the feeling from him that he will do whatever is necessary in his power to make his team a winner. I have talked with him since, but we didn't mention anything about the QB question. To me , he has some of those tools to be a Johnny Manzel type of QB when I saw him perform at Texas A&M.

Who do you think will make that decision?

We are talking about now, not middle school. Kaden was a great player then, but so was Tommy. Tommy has now proven himself at the high school level. Kaden has been in three different schools in the last two semesters if you are correct about him being at Franklin. Who knows where he will be this time next year. I stand by my statement, since we are talking about now not what used to be.

Cole is a gifted athlete who is a threat to go the distance any time he touches the ball. As a coach, are you going to let him touch the ball 40-50 times a game at QB or 6-7 times as a wide receiver?

The best player on that team and the upcoming soph class is Tommy Zeismer who started for Boyle as a freshman late in the season and who has a D1 offer from Louisville. The player you are referring to was a freshman at Western Hills this year.

Boyle has a top ten team(all classes) returning. Even though Reese Smith and Wilson Kelly can't be replaced there are several star quality players on the 2020 roster.Some have already been mentioned. With Cole Lanter at QB and Will McDaniel at RB plus a great line returning the Rebels will have another explosive offense. Luke Sheperson is a great receiver with size, toughness and speed. Edmiston,Mason,Hester,Rush and some other top linemen will anchor a quality offensive and defensive line. With Zeismer and Jackson Smith already on the D1 radar, this gives some idea what the new coach at Boyle can look forward to. I apologize for leaving out some of the returning kids that will be a vital part of this 2020 team.

In listening to the Rebel Fans over the last two days, Brandon Smith would be the choice of most of those I spoke with. This was all over the county and at the basketball games last night. He would truly be a great fit and especially since he calls his own offensive plays.

Chuck Smith is not going to retire from coaching football this year! These rumors are pure speculation.

Most of his yards were against Boyle's 2nd and 3rd defensive units after the running clock.
