My prediction, with nothing to base it on other than gut feeling, is that Wayne Heringer will be the new coach at Pendleton County. Heringer was an assistant coach at Pendleton under Doug Wainscott, before both moved to Campbell County. Pendleton County's new Superintendent, Anthony Strong, is the former Superintendent at Campbell County, and he is extremely active in athletics. I believe Heringer was in the running for the Pendleton County job two years ago when Josh Hamm was hired.

Thomas More has also shown interest in Monroe.

I hope everyone knows better than to count out GRC by now. Granted, they've never lost all of their scoring and turned out a whole new lineup from the prior year like they'll have to this year. Wait....

I look for one team to distance itself from the pack in the 10th, just like GRC did last year. The 10th Region was supposed to be one of the weakest in the state last year, and while it might have been, it produced another solid contender at Rupp, just like every other year. Montgomery County, Scott, or Brossart would be the most likely candidates to represent the 10th at Rupp, but Pendleton County, Mason County and Campbell County (Depending on McGovney's health) are viable candidates as well.

Nothing on Mason County?

A 28 is a very, very good ACT score. A 32 is phenomenal. A perfect score is almost unheard of, especially for someone that balances high school athletics with his studies. Congrats to Mr. Fangman. Quite an accomplishment.

Covington Holy Cross?

Congrats to Charlie. Great to hear he will be playing at the next level. Are you sure it's an athletic full ride though? Those are extremely difficult, if not impossible to get at the NAIA level.

I would be surprised if at least one of them doesn't compete for the Region Crown by the end of the year.

I would rank Brossart and Scott ahead of Montgomery County.

Lineup should look something like this: 5- Ethan Moore 4- Mackenzie Colvin 3- Garrett Appleman 2- Aaron Gibson 1- Mason Monroe Bench- F Andrew Antrobus, G/F Austin Pyles, G/F Jackson Strong Pendleton returns 3 starters and 3 more players (Colvin, Gibson, and Andrew Antrobus) that saw a lot of Varsity time last year. Size will be an issue, as the lineup I posted only has one player taller than 6'0. New coach Ed Cravens likes to run a fast-paced offense, and press and trap on defense, so that should play into Pendleton's strength. Pendleton's biggest issue will be finding consistent second offense outside of Monroe. That was a big issue last year, and losing Rering and Antrobus certainly won't help that. Ethan Moore is probably the most likely candidate to fill that role. I would rank Brossart, Scott, Montgomery County, and possibly Mason County ahead of them in the pre-season.

Didn't everyone say nothing could be fixed until the AD was out? Or was that the superintendent?

I was one of many that jumped on the Hicks bandwagon with his 30-point performance at Rupp his Freshman year. I hope he shines this year as well.

I hope we all recognize how phenomenal that Trinity team was last year. Hicks was the 3rd or 4th scoring option on that team and he has offers from 3 power conference schools and 2 mid-majors.

Woodford County's ace Clinton Hollon is a 2013 commit to UK, but there's a very good chance he'll forgo college. He's a stud.

Bourbon County Senior Pitcher Chase Mullins, a UK signee, was drafted in the 24th round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Texas Rangers. Congratulations to Chase, and for UK's sake, I hope he doesn't pass on college. Mullins threw a no-hitter in Bourbon County's 2-1 loss to Harrison County in the Regional Semi-finals last week. He is listed at 6'9. He's probably closer to 6'7, but nonetheless, he's a big kid, with an even bigger arm.

Congrats to the Stangs on representing the 10th Region and Northern Kentucky well. Keep it rolling!

I think most people assumed he would pitch. I talked to his dad at their semi-final game and he said that as long as his arm felt okay, he would be on the mound. Obviously his arm didn't feel okay, but the plan was to pitch him against Brossart.

We don't really know what kind of hire Cravens will be. We haven't seen him coach boys basketball in a while. I'd at least give him a shot before I dismiss him as a poor coach. That being said, I do believe that in the future, Keaton Belcher will be the head coach at Pendleton County. And I believe he will be a successful coach for many years. But let's see what Cravens can do before we go there.

If nothing else, Pendleton will be very exciting to watch next year. Coach Cravens is running an extremely fast-paced offense, and a constant run and jump defense. This should benefit Mason Monroe, and PC should put up a lot of points next year.

I think you threw him off by saying "KBC took all the teams from the 10th Region and put them together.." I assume you meant KBS, hence your user name.

He did have a nice year. He's playing with Bluegrass Baseball Club again this summer. Hope he can make as big of a jump from Junior to Senior year that he did from Sophomore to Junior year.
