Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Mason County ? Remember, please be constructive.

Nothing on Mason County?

I heard we will have a team this year!!!!!

I noticed Mason Co will be playing Holmes this year at the Fieldhouse on January 15th.

Looking forward to making the trip to Maysville.

Any transfers to this year's squad?

Graduated 7 seniors last year...a lot to replace losing Tyler Black and Josh Harris.

They'll be fine with several young kids stepping up to contribute. Guard play will be the key for them as they have adequate size.

Who are some of the players to watch? size/position?

Steven Chambers returns for his Sr season and should provide leadership. Cody Staggs and Lucas Greenhill should probably play a big part as well. Where are the MC folks? Lets hear what they have coming up.

Two really athletic big men in Chambers and Johnson, who runs the floor as well as anyone his height. Royals' challenge will probably be guard play. Basketball is still a guard-driven game, and MC will need guys that can handle pressure, knock down outside shots, feed the ball to the post and make free throws.

I'm thinking (but might be wrong) that MC won the freshman region last year; so probably some good young talent coming up. I heard that several from that squad play football, so it may be a few weeks before they get their basketball legs.

Just one guy's opinion.

I think they did win the frosh region. Very talented group. One of the studs is a football qb? Loved watching him play.

Cody Staggs has transferred back to Augusta and will play his Senior season there.

What?! You mean that there are transfers out of Mason County?!

Yes, that is right, seven transfers in and one out. That sounds about right.
