Lloyd Memorial 5 Beechwood 2
First inning looked to be nervous energy and some overthrowing. He then settled down nicely and I think he struck out the side in the 2nd, 5th, and 7th. It might have been 5 hits for Beechwood. I had 3-4 with 1-2 E's, but either way, nicely done.

Lloyd Memorial 5 Beechwood 2
Nice win for the Juggs Strong outing by Addison Brown 7IP 3H 11K

Boone County 11 Conner 2
Is there a reason that Ganns only went 1 inning as the starter for Boone?

Holy Cross 13 Lloyd 1
1-1 game through 5 innings with a Brown vs Burger pitching matchup. Brown ran out of gas in the 6th and hit his pitch count (1st start of the year). From there, some mental miscues by the Juggs and then Holy Cross smelled the blood and capitalized on the opportunities.

Lloyd Memorial 42 Highlands 39
Kind of takes it to a high level of the old adage, "always be prepared" when the coach comes down the bench and calls your number. After sitting for about 90 minutes and cheering on the team, he got the call. Had to shoot two free throws with no one else lining the lane, no stretches, etc. 12 sec to play. Lloyd was up 3 and not tied or losing, but it was still pretty BIG. It put the Juggs up 4 so that a 3 ptr wouldn't knot things up I think 1-2 was as good as the coach could have asked for.

Lloyd Memorial 42 Highlands 39
I don't like to see it when one player is portrayed as "classy" and the other is portrayed as dirty. I watched the first Lloyd vs Highlands game as saw the "classy PT" intentionally undercut Mr Bray (at least twice) while he was in the air with no intent to do anything but drop him. Both players play very hard and are very competitive. Both players have faults, but so does everyone who walks the earth.

Smiley is a nice 6'3" or 6'4" lefty that will get a lot of quality time this year. He's really working to improve and it's going to pay off.- 9th Region this year? Who wins it, which teams/players are to watch?
Lloyd Memorial should have a pretty good 1-2 pitching combination with Addison Brown (jr) and Brady Asher (sr). They also have a couple of other quality arms in Codi Krebs (jr) and Tim Rogers (sr).- Walton-Verona / Lloyd Memorial predictions
How can Walton be 1-1 in two playoff appearances? They'd need 2 losses somewhere unless they were a state champ, wouldn't they?- ATY Roosters at EKU this weekend.
Another good weekend for the Roosters at EKU. Still have some things to work on, but they won their pool against some good teams. They ended up 3-1 on the weekend. Game #1: Smiley pitched a complete game. Had a "no-no" going for the first 4-5 innings and I think he only gave up 1-2 hits. Roosters got up early and rolled to a 7-0 victory over KBC Game #2: Smith pitched and went the distance. Roosters made some mistakes and had 4 unearned runs. Lost 7-6 in the last inning to Phenom Baseball Game #3: Cautrell pitched and went 3 innings. Looked really strong. A couple of walks, but I don't think they got a hit off him. Fardo closed it out with 4 innings and also did well. Victory 5-3 over the Ky Thunder Game #4: Brown pitched and went 4 innings giving up 1 hit. Ganns pitched the last three to close it out. Victory 7-1 over the Cincy Bulldogs- ATY Roosters at Tennessee Tech Team Showcase this weekend
All of the teams that played in this showcase were very strong teams. 1 from memphis, 1 from Nashville, 1 from Knoxville, and 1 from Northern Kentucky. One the hump: Game #1: Smith 4IP? (Beechwood) Smiley 3IP? (Conner) Defense didn't help them and the sticks weren't awake. lost 10-2 in an all around ugly game. You could tell it was the first time the guys had played together (communication) and they just weren't ready to play. Bats were slow and defense was lacks. Probably 6 unearned runs.... But the sign of a good team is being able to rebound from a game like this (see below) Game #2: Barrackman (sp) 7IP (Boone) Defense did much better and the game was tight throughout. Barrackman probably struck out 8-9 3-1 win Game #3: Brown 5IP (Lloyd) Lankeit 1IP (Cov Cath) Game was tight until the 5th inning (2-1, I think). Brown had 4-5 K's. I think Brown gave up 1 unearned run in the 4th and Lankeit gave up 1 unearned run in the 6th. 6-2 win Game #4: Gann 4IP (Boone) Teegarden 2IP (Boone) Again, game was tight for the first 4 innings. I think it was 2-2 after 4 innings, but the Roosters middle of the lineup got some key hits and stretched the lead in the 4th/5th. 6-2 win Pitching was pretty strong for the fall showcase. All teams had quality on the mound, but I'd say the Roosters had the most consistent group. Hitting-wise, it was a wood bat tourney, so no one hit any out of Tennessee Tech field, but there were a lot of solid shots.- ATY Roosters at Tennessee Tech Team Showcase this weekend
Nice effort by the Roosters. Game #1 was a loss to a Knoxville Eagle team. Roosters looked like they were still sitting in the cars from the 5 hour drive Game #2 was a 3-1 victory over the Dulin Dodgers Game #3 was a 6-2 victory over the Music City Classics Game #4 was a victory over the Dulin Dodgers 6-2 Overall, they came away with the best record from the showcase 3-1 Good effort overall... The more they played together, the better they looked.- Lloyd/Waton-Verona Predictions
What's the prognosis on Dillon Smith? Lloyd isn't deep enough to have very many injuries to key players and have a successful season. Heard ACL from some students, but heard he was walking around school...?- You write the funny caption 15
My age progression timeline.... When I started the beehive look 20 years ago(far left) to where I am today (far right)- ATY Roosters at the Swamp
Is there an actual schedule for the Roosters and are do they have a local home field?- Ky Colonels 1 Panthers 0 U-16 Summer Game
Agreed hja. NKY Panthers were just back from a tournament at Indiana State and some of the key players were given the night off to rest sore arms, backs, etc. Both the Buzz and the Colonels are non-league games with the NKY Panthers. Tournaments and league games seem to get more emphasis than non-league weekday games. I think all three of the teams that have been mentioned in this thread are very good teams with competitive, well skilled athletes. The balance of power could shift every time the three teams play.- 34th District Semis St Henry 2 Lloyd 1
Well pitched and well played game by both teams. Kuebbing went 7 innings for St Henry giving up 3 hits and 3 walks. Brown went 4.67 innings for Lloyd giving up 1 hit and 3 walks (came out of game with soreness in the forearm) Molitor went 2.33 innings for Lloyd giving up 2 hits and a walk Defensively, no errors for either team. Both offenses struggled. Lloyd had runners in scoring position in the 1st, 5th, 6th, and 7th but could only get one run across. St Henry scored 1 run in the 4th and one in the 6th. Tough way to end the season for the Juggs, but they have improved vastly. Good luck to the Crusaders as they move on.- Ludlow and St.Henry score for tonight?
St Henry was up 10-0 after 4- NKY Player of the Year 2011
Totally agree, "Less Than Zero"! Getting into any kind of flow has been tough. Either it's raining or it's so cold a windy that everyone struggles to get loose and be consistent. April showers bring MAY BASEBALL!!- Ryle 7 Cooper 6
My personal opinion is that you often see better pitching at the freshman and varsity level than you do the JV level, so while a .600 is really good...... If you are going to see it at the end of the year, it's probably going to be at that level.- Lloyd Memorial 6 Dixie Heights 5
I think he was intentionally walked once, unintentionally-intentionally walked twice and grounded out to ss one time. It was a risky move, for sure. First base was open, but he was the winning run. The 4 hitter behind Sexton had been silent all game, so I guess pitching to him was the better option.- Lloyd Memorial 6 Dixie Heights 5
yep... I think it was an HBP, unintentional/intentional walk to Sexton, and an E that loaded them up. I could be wrong on a little bit of that..... Then the line drive toward the middle that the ss snagged, he stepped on 2nd and threw to 1st...... Bang, Bang, Bang- Lloyd Memorial 6 Dixie Heights 5
In district Seed Game, Lloyd comes up big! Sophomore, Addison Brown started and went 6 1/3 giving up 4 hits and striking out 7. (3 hits in the 2nd inning and 1 in the 7th) Junior, Brady Asher hit a 2-run home run to put the Juggs in front. Lloyd had 16 hits to Dixie's 6. Lloyd also turned a triple play in the 5th inning. Dixie came back in the 7th to make it a close game, but Lloyd closed the door with the tying and winning runs on base. - Highlands vs Erlanger Lloyd Predictions
