  1. No disrespect; but Cov Cath will 10 run this St. Henry team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shumate get some time on the mound. This would be more for an experience factor down the road.
  2. New Cath and Ryle without a doubt. Cov Cath lucky that St. Henry and New Cath positions were not flip flopped. Coach Krumps would figure it out as always. Cov Cath will start Krumme game one, Isler game two, and Nutini game three. End of story and 9th region tournament is ours. I do not see Cv Cath getting tested. We will run rule St. Henry, shut out winner of Ryle/New Cath; and beat whoever comes out of the other bracket.:thumb::thumb:
  3. Luke is the man. Luke is the man. Luke is the man. :taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz::taz:
  4. I think you're right Old Guy.:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
  5. Today's game does Coach krumps use Isler or go with Shumate? In my opinion Isler starts and Cov Cath mwins in five innings.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:
  6. Thanks for the apology. Story was true that Smith was hit. I spoke to A.J.'s dad Saturday night at Maifest and he said A.J. was doing good. No broken bones just lots of swelling. He also said he is not sure if A.J. will be able to pitch. This will be depend on how the swelling subsizes. A.J.'s dad did want to thank everyone who has called and checked up on him.:thumb:
  7. Probably not going to happen as of last night. Smith was knocked unconscious by a line drive at Boone and suffered a broken eye socket and is out for the year. Roenker's ankle sore probably will not go since Smith is not pitching.
  8. Boone scored all their runs in the 6th and 7th. My understanding that Smith was hit in the face with a line drive and was knocked unconscious. I think Smith is out for the year with a broken eye socket. I certainly hope he is fine. What a shame!! Boone was scoreless against Smith per my friend. Can anybody verify this.
  9. Well played and a pure pleasure to watch.:dancingpa
  10. Triple or Double?? Come on were all Colonel brothers. Kudos to Beechwood's new field. Field is taking shape and a major upgrade. One suggestion maybe remove grass for infield. Isler did a great job pitching. Darner hits again. Beechwood pitcher struggled with control; but him and Isler had no hitters in the5th inning. I believe we sall the best two pitchers in NKY ; a shame Smith was wild.
  11. I'm only stating that if you pitch in 2-3 games as i was told; is that hard for a pitcher to pitch or is he even eligible to pitch. Cov Cath is certainly not worried about facing Smith. Nobody has been able to confirm this to me yet. Hopefully Old guy can give some insight with some of connections.
  12. I know for a fact that Smith pitched in these games. Two for sure , not for sure about the third. What is the rule on pitching on a Saturday for 3 games and then on Monday. Does the High school rules allow this or is Beechwood coaches wearing this kid out?
  13. Congratulations to Jake Lankheit. I'm sure Rick nwas happy and Grandpa Maile was also very proud.:clap::clap:
  14. I was told by a friend Beechwood used Smith in all three games yesterday as a reliever.:eek::eek::eek:
  15. I doubt the game will get played. I hope so but the radar does not look good.:cry::cry::cry::cry:
  16. Come on Blue Magic : Give credit to Connor. You do remember Jeremie from last years region game. Covington Catholic is my alma mater; but lets be realistic.
  17. Let's hope Mother Nature does not prevent this game. I plan on getting there early and watching Ice go.
  18. One of the most exciting games I've seen this year. Kudos to both teams never quitting.:ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper:
  19. One no hitter versus Newport Catholic and the other was against Holmes. Are you sure of this. Perhaps some Beechies fans could help clarify?
  20. Had dinner last night with a friend from high school and he gave me some stats on Beechwoods Smith kid. From the stats pitching wise, offensive stats, and apparently a huge defensve asset at 1st base. According to the Beechies fan he leads the team in almost all categories offensively and defensively. Certainly i agree with your 3 picks; but after hearing these stats ; I believe in being fair; the Smith kid is right ibn line with Isler. Please help me out and let me know if he has 2 no hitters this year.:idunno:
  21. Does he throw in low 80s also. Very impressive for a sophomore.
  22. Radar gun needs to be recalibrated. Smith throws low 80s;you can bank on it. Beechwood's shortstop throws harder.
  23. I doubt Smith throws even in the mid 80s; so whats all the hoopla about. Adam Shumate will start with game. This is just my opinion.
  24. If either two of these young men pitch; the game would have only lasted 5 innings. This is why Coach Krumps is hands down the best coach in the 9th region. Starting a sophomore in the Colonel Classic will provide our boys of blue with countlesss pitches of experience. Excellent job Adam Shumate. Congrats ton Coach Maxwell on number 501 as well.
