  1. Top two are correct and Maxwell is a close third; but IMO Beechwood has been blessed with the number 4 coach in Bobby Mullins.:thumb::thumb:
  2. :dancingpa The correct first word is Covington Catholic. :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa
  3. Beechwood's 1st baseman A.J. Smith has played outstanding first base for Myerhoff; not to mention pitching. I understand he is hitting very high for average also. I also would love to add the :6th man for baseball", his name is Brandon Lafever.
  4. Holy Cross' ace pitcher started against Dixie due to forecast of rain this week. I'm a huge Cov Cath. fan; but I firmly believe Roenker will shut us down. As far as district play goes; both Beechwood and Holy Cross have split two games against each other without pitching their respective aces. I believe both teams come district play will go with number 2 or 3 starter and save their aces for our Cov Cath. kids. IMO
  5. Sometimes when you concentrate on not running up the score, your team actually looks like they are trying to run up the score. The leading team's players start playing nonchalantly to the point of joking around. This will look like running up the score which is actually trying to do the opposite. As a head coach in AABc baseball' if my team was winning by this much; my players would always take two strikes before swinging. In contrast, my teams have also been on the losing side and I've explained to my players that our team was the only concern of mine and so it should be their concern.
  6. I agree; but I firmly believe Bertke would have finished the game out. My charts had him at 80 pitches: 50 strikes and 30 balls. Pretty awesome for a sophomore pitcher facing a strong senior laden Holy Cross team. Beechwood brought in Smith for the 7th inner for the 8th, 9th, amd 10th hitter. I'll agree he earned a save;but I doubt he threw much harder than Bertke!
  7. Almost arrogant; very close to the truth. Old Guy knows all,sees all, and IMO knows NKY baseball as wellas anybody.
  8. Fantastic pitching game in my opinion. Beechwood starter Josh Bertke threw 6 innings of 1 run ball. He had some excellent defense behind him by the shortstop. I'm sorry that I do not know his name. Beechwood played small ball and played it better than Holy Cross. Steve Rickels continued his hot hitting going 2-3 and making all the plays at short. Stewart pitched well enough to win; especially with very little offense. First time at Beechwood's new field and I must say WOW!!
  9. Huh?????????????????????????????:ohbrother::ohbrother:
  10. Way to go Boppy!:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:
  11. Congratulations to Steve. Great job young man.:ylsuper::ylsuper::thumb:
  12. I agree; if Roenker pitches Holy Cross wins. I would venture to say Hunter jones walks at least 3-4 times in this game. Piper could keep holy cross off with his off speed pitches; but must stay ahead and not use his fastball.
  13. Please do not get to worked up. We do not want your Dr. or wife mad at you. KLife is to short.
