Theoldguy Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Covington Catholic 9 Lloyd Memorial 2 In the Coach Conner Classic Both Lloyd and CovCath do nothing in their halves of the 1st inning. Lloyd 2nd: Lloyd scores 2 runs on two walks and a double. So after 2 complete innings it is Lloyd 2 CovCath 0 Lloyd doesn't score again in the game but in the third CovCath ties it up on a single by Martin a single by Siemer and an E-5. So after 3 complete it is all tied 1-1 CovCath 4th: lsler singles and steals a base, Holocher walk, Lafever puts down a sac bunt, and young freshmen Lowkite gets his first rbi of his carreea to put CovCath ahead 2-1 after four complete. CovCath fifth and sixth innings find CovCath blowing the game open by scoreing 7 runs to finish off the game. The good: Maile starting at SS, his cousin CovCath freshmen Lowkite (sp?) starts behind the plate and knocks in two runs. Gerwe goes seven complete innings to extend the streak of complete game victoires for the CovCath starters to six straight. Everybody got to play. Isler goes 3-4, RD goes 2-4 with 4 rbi's. The bad and ugly: Theoldguy who drove 11 hours yesterday and only got around 4 hours sleep last night.:sssh: The CovCath hitting Nutini 4 PA 1 runs scored 1 k 1 sb and reached base via E-4 Siemer 4 PA 2 runs scored 2 hits 1 walk and 1 sb Maile 4 PA 1 run scored 3 walks (1 IW) 1 sb and reached base via E-5 Darner 4 PA 2 hits double 4 rbi's (51, 52, 53, 54) Isler 4 PA 3 hits and 1 sb Ritter 1 run scored Holocher 4 PA 1 run scored 2 walks 1 k and 2 sb Lafever 3 PA 1 sac Lowkite (sp) 3 PA 1 hit double and 2 rbi's B Reese 1 run scored Warning 2 PA 1 run scored 1 hit and 1 sb Martin 1 PA 1 run scored 1 hit and 1 sb CovCath pitching: Gerwe (4-0) 107 pitches 7 complete innings 30 PA 5 hits 2 runs 2 earned runs 3 walks 4 k's CovCath is now 25-3 on the season.
