This should be a great late season game should the weather cooperate. J.T. Riddle did not pitch against Lafayette tonight, so I am assuming he will pitch against Lexington Catholic tomorrow. No idea who Clary will run out there for Lex Cath.

Pretty much expected. The 11th region can only hope that Lexington Christian and Tates Creek are on the same side of the 43rd district. Does anyone know when that drawing is held?

Nice day for Logan. I'm not sure how long he has been out but Tates Creek has faired just fine lately. 14-4 overall with recent wins over PRP, Lexington Christian, Daviess County and Dunbar. Of course having Logan's bat in the lineup will improve any team.

Final. Harrison County will get tested again this weekend against Lexington Catholic, Bullitt East and Trinity.

Did J.T. Riddle throw tonight?

Shelby County should win by four or five runs. 7-2 Rockets!

Ah. That must have been what I was thinking about. Well hopefully Champion Window stadium will be ready in the next couple of weeks. Regardless of where they play, look for Catholic to be hungry after last year!!

I thought both the 9th and 10th regional tournaments were at NKU this year?

Ryle has lost to Covington Catholic by scores of 4-2 and 2-1, they lost to Male 3-2, they lost to Trinity 1-0 and lost to Western Hills 4-3. That's tough. Five close games against ranked teams, but not much to show for it. Looks like they took it out on CAL yesterday with a 13-3 victory though.

When did there start being a mercy rule after four innings?

Looked like Tates Creek started Abe Mitchell and was down 4-0 after the first inning. They came back to take a 5-4 lead and kept adding runs every inning until they finally won 15-6. Very impressive win for Creek!

Anyone know who pitched for PRP? Regardless, Tates Creek can usually hit with anyone.

Out of the Kentucky schools, only two teams Harrison has beaten have records better than .500. They beat Estill County (13-5) and Nicholas County (11-6). The rest of their wins are against teams that are .500 or worse. They lost to the two best Kentucky schools they played, Greenup County (16-7) and Newport Central Catholic (14-5). Neither Greenup County or NCC is in the top 25. I wouldn't say it is so ridiculous to not have Harrison County in the top 25 either. Like Hilltopper said, they'll have upcoming games to prove whether or not they are worthy of being mentioned as a top 25 team. As of right now though, they really haven't beaten anyone to prove that.

Nothing is wrong with JV/Freshmen baseball teams. Most times they are essential for building a solid program. However, I wasn't so sure this was the appropriate thread to discuss those teams. I guess that's not for me to decide though. Anyway, great win Manual!!

My favorites are Lexington Christian and Tates Creek. You have to put Franklin County in front of Western Hills, but can't count out either. Really, from what I have seen, there are more teams this year that can win it. A lot depends on the draw of the 43rd and who makes it out of that mess, and again on the draw of the 11th region tournament.

According to the KHSAA record books, in 1984 Middlesboro scored 36 runs in the first inning against Pineville, but not sure what the final score was. Last year Anderson County beat Eminence 58-0.

Lafayette needs to win games like this if they want to be discussed for the top 20 rankings.

They should be, but there have been several good wins this week by teams already in the top ten, especially in the LIT, that could hinder Franklin County making an appearance in the top five. I would say they are deserving with a 16-1 record, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

It will be interesting to see where Franklin County lands in this week coaches poll come Thursday.

Looks like Covington Catholic went to the LIT ready to play! Big wins over Apollo and LCA, very impressive.

Lexington Catholic beat Apollo 5-2 on April 11th. Their other two losses are from teams in Indiana. Covington Catholic hurt themselves with a loss to Boone County, but can definitely redeem themselves this weekend and next. They play three top ten teams this weekend (St X, Apollo and Lexington Christian), and play another top ten team next weekend (Franklin County). This will be a good test for them to see how they stack up against top competition. If they only go 2-2 against those four teams, I could still see them moving into the top ten. I believe they are 13th right now.
